Well after yesterday's big spectacle pricing errors, i'm seeing zilch for decent deals at my local stores. Maybe after the memorial day sales we'll see some more good stuff.

I just tried like 30 random lowes throughout the country, can't even find a Irwin Powerslot for under $39.98. Anyone else see any? Did they reset all of the clearance prices back to full price on everything online?

I hope so. Father's Day 2011 was when I first realized the deals to be had at Lowe's. A couple of the deals back then:

Buy the 26" Kobalt Hammer Box ($30) get the 10-piece pliers set free ($40)

Buy any one Bostitch hand tool--they had a chalk line, torpedo level, hammer, and 2 or 3 others--get another for free. I paid $6 for a just-reduced chalk line and got the $20 level free

I don't think it was a Father's Day deal, but the Kobalt 1/4" socket set that sells for $30 dropped to $10 that year too. Combine those deals with the US Kobalt clearance and it was a good year.

I just scored one of the Rockwell Jawhorse (RK9003) at Lowes for $29.80 out the door! I was extremely lucky because they had 3 @ $99 each and the lowes in Billings, Montana ***** at discounting anything. I took a screen shot of the photo from Slickdeals where a guy in Virginia bought one at $29.80 and caught the right person at the right time, to get the "one time courtesy price match". This is only the second deal I've been able to get at Lowes in 4 years compared to other states where I'd find deals all the time.

Nice deal. Go back tomorrow and try to get another. A lot of reviews I read say you should get 2 of them, for projects such as holding up a door horizontally or any long boards

I'd get one of their Jawstand XPs over of a second Jawhorse. It can hold a door on end if need be and work as a regular support as well. The Jawhorse is awesome, but it's just too bulky for storing multiples of even folded down.

Hmm, that's interesting.

I was considering an outfeed stand like this:

Still contemplating whether the Jawstand would be better though.

I got the Harbor Freight roller stand for that. $15 and works great. I'm not a huge fan of HF, but how could you go wrong here for that price.

I can see all of the bonus features of the Jawstand XP, but if ur just using it as an out-feed or as a miter saw extension, check out the HF stand.

They accept this even though Franklin, VA shows 0 in stock?

Indeed, I was very luck! They only took a look at the image I had on my phone & made the one time price match, they didn't even look online to check what I showed.. They didn't even make a stink about it being from Franklin, VA 2,100 miles away even though he mentioned it. I was truly luck, a very rare thing at my local lowes.

Oh huh. Never thought to check Harbor Freight for this. Thanks for the tip.

Damn, I was just in my local Lowe's store and got up enough courage to ask if they would price match the jawhorse. The department manager was cool about it and looked up the price there at the Franklin, VA store and it showed $149.99!!! Geezzzzz. I thanked him for taking the time to look and walked away with my head down and my tail between legs. No luck!

I had the vibe that he was going to match it to.

For having a supposed "price match" policy, I must say that lowes blows on it.

They all say "same item same sku", but after that, the policy is completely different depending on who you talk to, and they will find every excuse to get out of matching it.

My local lowes will only match stores within a 20 mile radius.

Went to lowes in the next town over, tried to price match the Jawhorse that I got at my local store for $50. This store had only the display model left, priced at $95. Talked to the tool manager and he said the best he will do is 10% off because my local lowes "clearly didn't follow policy". I then told him that it was actually listed at 50, not adjusted. Then he says "oh well" and walked off.

Tried to price match the Irwin cutters with the attendant at self checkout, who called over a different manager. I used a printed receipt from here (South Carolina I think) for $5. They are still $40 here. The manager looked up their store and said they couldn't do it because it was "non stock" at that store.

This is a corporate business, so shouldn't the price match policy be standard corporate wide? I'll have to look around online to see what I can come up with from corporate.

From what I've seen firsthand, and heard in these forums, each Lowe's is run at the whim of the store manager. I frequent stores in a 150-mile radius and visit another 15-20 stores a few times a year. Special buys, sales, and other standard discounts are usually the same. Clearance items are vastly different. I can name a few stores that have Porter Cable 12V and 18V stuff for full retail to maybe 30% off. This is months to well over a year since most stores blew everything out for pennies on the dollar. Some stores even have tools that can't be found on the website since they were cleared out last year. Examples are Wiss cable tie tools in Americus and various Ideal datacom tools in Savannah. After the debacle they experienced last week, I expect Lowe's to circle the wagons and crack down even further on price matching items that are marked down significantly.

I couldn't even get Lowe's to match Menard's that you could see from Lowe's. I have Lowe's gift cards that I was trying to use. They definitely don't have a uniform policy.

I hit the Champaign Lowes occasionally and have very little luck for clearance items.
Many times I have them scan an item at the register and the damn thing usually rings up more than the tag on the shelf.
Its almost gotten to the point I don't even go in anymore other than to get Devcon 5 minute epoxy in the large containers.

Anyone with the current "RRRRR" coupon codes? I hate slickdeals and can't ever navigate that sight to figure it out.

I sent Lowes an e-mail about this "price matching" and here is their reply. Basically, if I read between the lines, it says "tough luck" we price match, but only on things we want to.

"Good morning Ray,

Thank you for contacting Lowes Customer Care. I apologize for the delay in answering your email. Lowes does price match but not on clearance items. I dont know what happened at the store but in the future if you should encounter such issues, please call 1-800-445-6937 so that a customer care representative can assist you. I am so sorry for all the inconveniences.

If you have questions, please reply back to this email.

Best regards,

Barbara D."

Comments :I tried to price match a new tool (item #638073) that was being sold at another Lowes store. Original price was $39+ and the sale price I was trying to match was $5 (there was a $9.99 price also listed.) This is a brand new tool, just released by Irwin and I had a photo of the tool with the sale price clearly shown in the photo. My local store said that they wouldn't price match clearance items and when I point out that it was for a brand new, just released tool, I got the same "won't do it" comment. So, I went to Lowes.com, found the tool at another store for the $9.99 price and bought it. My question(s) are, why aren't Lowes prices consistent from store to store and if Lowes says that they'll price match Home Depot etc. why won't you price match your own stores? Thanks, Ray

FYI, the Middletown, NY lowes has two jawhorses in stock @$52/ea. No parcel ship option.

I'll be right by there tomorrow, but don't really have much use for much more than a standard sawhorse.

Found these L.E.D. bulbs for $2.97 close outs!!! escondido, Ca

That reminds me... I saw about 50 of those bulbs at our local Restore. On them was a sign, "NOT LED - CFL". I guess someone bought them all, changed them out for cheap bulbs and returned them.

I opened one up out of curiosity, and it was actually an incandescent bulb inside not even a CFL.

I've never worked at lowes but in the retail I have done price match policy is for regularly priced items. Its really stupid of lowes to have all this non stock clearancing pricing when the store down the street is just hanging them on the shelves. My lowes manager told. me their stores are broken into different regions and he will match in that region. I have 5 stores within a 20 minutes drive and even their regular price stuff is different store to store. So confusing

Just saw the hardware kit for hanging Kobalt cabinets at my local NJ store for .15/box.

Sorry no picture. Phone has no room left to take one.

Slime 50 psi inflator is $1.62. Item #323831. I bought a couple for the wife and a friend and one to throw in the glove box. Never mind the PC inflator and foot pump I already keep on hand. Also, Slime Tire Tackle kits are as low as $1.19. Worth it for the tire tool, but at that price it's worth getting if you need valve stem caps.

I only had resistance 1 time this past week, shipping a clearance item. It was from a clueless customer service guy. Explained to him I was calling to pay for parcel shipping for an item that was paid for and waiting in their online pickup cage. And that I just needed to have the shipping rung up and the item taken from the front to receiving in back. He tries to sell me truck delivery and then says he would transfer me to the receiving department. I kindly said no, they'll just transfer me back up here and asked to speak to a floor manager or store manager instead.

He put me on hold, came back after speaking to the manager and kindly rung me up over the phone for shipping. He apologized for not knowing about the shipping policy. We joked about it and that was that. ***** they weren't too helpful at the store you called.

Well after a lengthy phone conversation with multiple employees and a week for shipping. I'm happy to report Lowe's came through and I have the Irwin cutters and a quick cutter (IIRC) set in hand. I called back to give recognition to the employees that helped.

Do these things actually work? I've always been sketchy about buying 12V car tire inflators, mainly because they look cheap as hell. Anyone used this thing?

I guess at $1.62, it's worth testing it. My store is showing around $4.50.

Inexpensive 12V inflators will be slow but for $4.50 or less it's cheap enough to keep in the trunk for emergencies. Much better than walking or manual pumping
