Placed order at 2 different stores showing them in stock. Got cancellation call from each shortly after.

Does this kit include the cordless flashlight like the picture shows??? Description doesn't mention it, not that the flashlight would be a selling point for me.

Here's the description:

• Drill/driver has a 3/8-inkeyless chuck and a 21+1 clutch with 21 torque settings and a drill mode for ultimate precision and control in both forward and reverse
• Impact driver delivers 840 in-lbs of driving torque for heavier applications like tightening carriage bolts, driving lags and sinking deck screws
• Powered by Li-ion battery technology for fade-free power, less weight and 3 times the total battery life of traditional batteries
• Batteries charge in 50 minutes and come with a 2-year warranty
• All tools covered by Hitachi lifetime warranty
• Extremely lightweight for ease of use; compact size ideal for hard to reach jobs
• Comes with a soft carrying case
• Includes 40 minute charger

It does include it. Went by one of the stores that called to cancel and I found one on the shelf.

So they either lied to you or were too lazy to go get it... how nice...

Yep, not the first time it's happened to me either unfortunately. Don't know which is worse...too lazy or lying.

In their defense on this one, there appears to be a new kit that looks the exact same, but has a different UPC code, and a different Lowes Item #, and this one was mixed in with those. So, I'm guessing this kit is discontinued, hence the clearance price.

So...check your local stores guys. There may be some of the older kits mixed in with the new if your store shows in stock, but they cancel your order.

Yeah. I'd noticed you were in NH, so I checked a couple those too. Price never changed. Don't really need it, so I'll just leave it alone. Thanks, though.

Sorry, I was quoting from the Rochester, NH store. But now that I look at it, the available quantity is zero for the entire state... I filtered for In-Store only, but it still showed up.

The 12V combo kit for $50.88 is showing in stock for most NH stores, didn't check the prices at each but Rochester NH is $50.88 showing 1 in stock for anyone in the area that wants it.

Think I caught my local Lowe's people trying to pull a fast one on me. Went to the other store I placed an online order for the Hitachi impact kit and had gotten a cancellation. Found one (the app showed they had one in stock when I ordered) sitting on a table with a note saying it didn't have any batteries inside and not to put back on the shelf. Only problem is, it was sealed, so how the heck would they know? Took it to customer service, opened it up, and it was all there as I figured it would be. Think the online order picker was trying to keep it for himself. Bastards.

Pardon my ignorance but I'd appreciate some direction on this one. The 306199 hitachi 12 volt combo at my local store is $111 but a store in state 5 hours away is at $60 for the same item. What is the best way, or options even, for getting the other store's price? Historically I have just requested a price match but is there another way I am missing?
Thanks!

In my experience, they will only price match stores within a close proximity, say 25 mile radius or some nonsense. There have been folks having good success ordering things for online pickup at stores in other areas, and when you get the notice/call to pick up your order, you call the manager of that store and tell them you'd like it shipped to you. Seems to be a flat rate of $7.99 or so. You could try that, but I'd start with having your local store try to price match. You never know...seems to be at the manager's discretion. That's the one thing that irks me about Lowe's. Each store seems to behave differently. Good luck!

And every person you talk to within the same store tells you something different. If you don't like what one employee tells you, ask another. There's also more than one manager. If the people at self checkout say no, take it out to the cashiers in lawn and garden and try there. If that doesn't work, go to the contractor checkout.

In my experience, they will do everything they can to get out of price matching. Every excuse in the book.

Durnit. I'm already heavily into Hitachi 12v stuff, and could use an impact driver and flashlight (but already have 2 drills). None local, $79 about 20 miles away and $55 about 80 miles away.

Vaughan makes good stuff. This is their "Stealth" hammer that came out a couple years back. I pulled one out of the wrapper with the pry bar and didn't like the balance, personally. Great deal, though.

I agree.....same in my area and when you question them they say they do price match but find an excuse why they can't "this time".

Can anyone tell me if they've recently used the lowes inventory checker @
site-check.site88.net/

I've downloaded it but I keep getting random errors about Richtx32.ocx

Is the handle actually stars and stripes or is that just the packaging. If it's the handle, I may have to get one "just because."

Huh, I could've sworn it was on the hammer. Look at the pic on the box in the background, too.

It might very well be, it's just, the last Vaughan I bought had that same patterning over it. Mine was just a piece of paper underneath a thin sheet of plastic that peeled right off. I can't see that being the grip patterning though. The black paint with the stars and stripes doesn't sit right. Maybe if it were chrome/polished steel. :dunno:

Either way, it seems like a hell of a deal. If I didn't just pick up a used Superbar, I would be after this one. My Lowes is showing $14.98.

It's a plastic wrap. I just bought one, and while the wrap still offers some decent grip, the handle itself is black rubber. I'll probably leave it on, though, unless it proves slippery when wet. It won't survive the first hard use.

Also picked up a Kobalt 10" aluminum pipe wrench (464654) for $13.99. Normal price is $19.99; they also have 464652 which is similar but still full price.

Is it black rubber? Steel all the way up connected to the head? I was just in Sears and they have a bunch of different Vaughan hammers but they were wood handles and felt cheap as hell. I was also looking at the Irwin/Vise Grip tools, they only carry the ones made in China. Sears *****.

Spn, for whatever reason, Vaughan likes to coat their handles in that clear coat ****. If you sand that down, there's a real nice handle underneath, BLO is all you need. Vaughan is my personal favorite hammer manufacturer.

Well I just bought this Lowes special one today and it is much better than the ones at Sears. Lowes even had 2 wood handle ones (the ones with clear coat) that felt different from the ones at Sears (wood handles t painted black)

Lowes price match policy excuse #375:

So my store restocked up on Rockwell Jawhorse. Just a few days ago they were at $54. I brought in the receipt from a few weeks ago that I bought in this same store showing $54.

"Sorry we're not taking $100 off. Tough luck". "We don't price match our sales"

He also said "we don't match the online price". I had to explain to him that the online price is the actual store's price. What a 'tard.
