Maybe someone can help me out with the description on this:
"The blow-molded case is made from Zerust® infused plastic which emits an invisible vapor that forms a protective layer around metal objects"

WTF? most vapors are invisible... is this **** safe?? Disclaimer: Vapor emitted by case linked to depression, birth defects, cancer, constipation, and a burning sensation when urinating. Consult your physician before sniffing.

ZeRust is a Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI).

These are compounds which sublimate from their carrier and condense onto metal surfaces, where they inhibit corrosion.

Typically they are infused into Kraft paper -- that brown paper you find tools and parts wrapped in, or just a seemingly-pointless sheet added to the box. In this case the compounds are molded into the plastic. With paper, the effect lasts a year or two. It's difficult to guess how long the effect will last molded into plastic. Probably a few years if the box is kept closed.

Zerust claims to be totally safe, so safe they either don't need a MSDS or really make you just through hoops to find it.

Other VCIs aren't necessarily safe. "VCIs can contain many organic and inorganic hazardous chemicals, including those categorized as aromatic and aliphatic amines, nitrites, chromates, borates, zinc salts, polyphosphates, azoles, preservatives, toluene derivatives, phosphanates, and special formulas. To increase the naturally low vapor pressure of some VCIs, solvents may be added. These added solvents may include alcohols, ethers, mineral spirits, acetates, naphthenic distillates, glycols, and others. VCIs must vaporize to be beneficial."

Dewalt 7-1/4 24T circular saw blade $4.98, was $9.99, save 50%
Item # 355464

Last deal I remember before this was Irwin Marathon blades buy 1 get 1 free

It's like oil infused plastic or nylon...I suppose. I oil my sets anyway because I rarely use sets. I've never heard of this "zerust plastic" though.

Zerust reminds me a lot of my wife. She's not big on subli"mating", but she sure makes sure my tools are safely tucked away in case of an emergency.

I'm getting the same 500 error when trying to search for anything on the Lowes website that was happening on the day they had all the hammer drills listed for $10. Anyone happen to notice any price errors? (assuming anyone can search for anything)

Oh, C'mon!

Just when everything's going smoothly, this happens.

Sorry about that. While we work to fix it,

try going to our home page.

if someone in the area wants to try. Good luck though, I've tried a few different places that had these listed very cheap ($1.98) and were never able to find them. They have been discontinued for a while now.

Hey did you pick those up at the Miami Store or Hialeah? I never see any deals at the Miami store but I know you have picked up a few gems locally.

anyone got any experience with this?

I just bought one. It feels pretty well made and seems like a no brainer at the price. The hose is extremely flexible, which is nice, but I have to wonder how durable it is. I'll let you know what I think after I get it mounted and use it a little.

They were resetting nails and nail guns today. There might be some bargains tomorrow.
Let me guess, they're getting rid of the name brand stuff i.e. Hitachi, Bostitch etc. and only carrying house brand, like they did with the other pneumatic tools.

I take that back. I was carying mine around the shop and a screw fell out of somewhere. I pulled it apart and found that the hub inside, which is made of at least two pieces, is made of plastic. When mine was put together, they overtightened and stripped the threads in one of the holes, which is why the screw fell out. Another one of the four scews was not screwed in completely. I guess this is what you get for buying cheap things made in China. I'm going to exchange it and see if I can get a less messed up one. Goes to show that you get what you pay for.

Good luck finding things not made in China

Not a clearance item, just a word of advice.

I was purchasing 450 pieces of tile and one location had 6 pieces @ $1.80/sqft and a store 15 miles away had over 500 @ $3.00/sqft. I'm sure the location with 6 doesn't stock and the website reflected the marked down price.

I called Customer Service and after some convincing she was able to process the order of 450 at $1.80 from the higher priced store and called to have them take the payment over the phone. Once complete, I just showed up and picked it us like you would if you placed any online order. Saved me $550!

Just an FYI..........I created the program you are all referring to and I can assure you that it's safe to use. It does connect back to the website every time you open it in order to check for updates but that's it.

Hey, something up with the site88 hosting?

Looks like the site has been temp disabled due to CPU Limit Reached...

I'm curious, are the requests that your inventory checker puts out actually going through your site and then out to lowes? That seems like an unnecessary step? And now the inventory checker won't work :(

The joys of free hosting.............the program connects to my website upon startup to check for updates. It connects directly to Lowes for everything else.
