72 tooth ratchet.needs lubed though.it has a place to put the extension into the side I would guess for leverage.the size markings on the sockets are hard to read but for what I need it for it will work great.with the extension in the side it can be used like a regular, although weird looking, ratchet.and its a quarter inch drive on one side and bit on the other.

$8 makes adding it to the tool box out of curiosity nearly painless

I used zip 30341 and it shows Chamblee out of stock. All stores around that area are not 13.99... :(

This...I paid $15.53 for two, out the door. I got mine in Florence, SC; Hinesville, GA and Richmond, VA show the same price ($8), but Lumberton, NC has them listed for $13.98.

go to the item page, then on the top of the screen click "change store", then search for Chamblee GA

Don't try to do it from the "change pickup location" or "check availability", where it shows inventory levels of the stores.

The Irwin Powerslots are out of stock at Chamblee, but it lets you order for parcel shipping at $13.99

They all allow shipping. You just have to call.

Last time I tried doing that, it took a total of 3 hours between 5 calls between the store and 800 customer service to finally get 2 powerslots shipped. Every person I talked to in the store told me they didn't do ground shipping, only truck delivery. I ordered from Beaufort, SC for shipping to New Hampshire, and they wanted to do a truck delivery.

The 800 customer care had to get us on a 3 way phone conference with the store manager to straighten it out and get them shipped. It was way more of a headache than it was worth. Obnoxious customer service lady at Beaufort drove me nuts, kept telling me "no we don't do ground shipping. we only do truck delivery for $95" (whatever the cost was) and I kept saying "I live in ******* New Hampshire, bimbo, you gonna drive a truck 1000 miles up here to drop off 2 ******* pliers?"

In the end, I got the 2 powerslots for total $15.99 shipped. Surprised I didn't smash my phone off the ground.

Hell, for $95, I would tell them "sure, what the hell" and see if they ship the two pliers by freight 1000 miles. Then when they dont, argue that. :bounce:

I loaded this software on an fresh install of XP on bare metal. Remote Assistance was not enabled. Upon installing this software, it loaded the Remote Assistance application into my Favorties menu.

I have never used, nor will I ever use Remote Assistance. It's a remote backdoor into your PC.

Question: Why in the hell is this application trying to enable remote assistance on my box?

Answer: Spyware.

I tried installing both the Home Depot and Lowes programs on this site http://www.inventory-checker.com/ after finding it clean from 3 different virus/spyware checkers. I could not get either installed on Windows 8.1.

Same site.

This is a fine example of why you NEVER want to install any software from an unknown vendor that requires you to install as root (administrator) on your box. This software now has full administrator privileges on your box. This installation paradigm is totally unnecessary to install end-user software. It exploits the lack of knowledge of most users, and it's the design by which hackers gain remote access and control over your PC. This is why I don't run windows.

You've all been warned.

I'm sure Rex will have an explanation. Rex?

I picked up the palm ratchet and a set of bosch router bits tonight when I was there. Palm ratchet seems very nice for $8, wish it was Taiwan and not China COO though.

The Irwin Powerslot Long Nose pliers have started dropping in price. $29.98, down from $39.98, down from $44. I'll wait till they get below $10.

:+1: I'd really like a set sub $10, lets hope.

Also, I have better things to do than try to infect you all with some mysterious virus or spyware. If you don't trust the program then don't use it...your loss not mine.

Considering a fresh install of Windows XP will be overcome by spyware and viruses within minutes of connecting the computer to the Internet, I'm not at all surprised.
Sorry, but you're making some assumptions that aren't valid. This XP box wasn't even connected to the internet. The disk was imaged and the PC was isolated from the internet by an air gap, no connectivity of any kind. The software in question was carried to the box on a floppy. You're barking up the wrong tree.

Now I see the program's author not even being willing to talk about the problem. That inspires no faith.

back to topic...sorta.

For $44 and being made in Germany, I am not impressed with the quality. On many of the pliers, the jaws don't line up and there is a gap when the 2 jaws close. You can put 2 pieces of paper between the jaw and it'll slide right out (plenty of day light). Not sure if it was designed that way.

The one I had, even the wire cutter also has a slight gap. The metal casting on this plier is not very smooth either.

If you wait for it to drop below $10, good luck finding one at that price since not all lowes carry them. I would buy one at $10 just to have one with a pistol grip as I do like the feel of the plier.

Just be aware there are no current $50 off $250, $20 off $100 or $15 off $50 codes.

They've also changed $10 off $50 to off $60 and $5 off $25 to off $30.
