Check out #304184. They work. Have one in the kitchen and even the smallest wisp of smoke during cooking will set it off.
Hey guys have a question. Buddy of mine bought me the garage door opener that was on clearance, but I don't need it. I think he paid $80 for it, I want to return it without telling him and asking him for the receipt, problem now is the same garage door is listed at $198 everywhere and no one has it in stock. Is there anyway I can find out what the price is in store without going in? If its dropped down way below $80 or if it rings up as $198 now I'll have no choice other than asking him for the receipt.
I also don't want it to look suspicious if the register says the garage door opener was much cheaper in price or if it shows up as $198 now and I tell them I don't want to return it.

find out the item number, call and ask them to check the price ~~~
Just tell them you want the store price, not the website price. Usually when an item clearances out and zero inventory, the website jumps to full price, but sometimes their in-store price stays at whatever it was.
Can also probably call and ask for the lowest sale price....thats the number they will give you back if you dont have a receipt.
Im not sure if the lowest sale price is per-store, regional or national, so its possible some stores might end up giving back more $$$ than others. Im not condoning doing it to get as much back as possible, its just something that Ive noticed (forever ago, one store had bandsaw blades for 84 cents....a store 8 miles away had the same blade at full price, 30.00)
They actually have the ability to look up the last time it was sold. If you know when he got it then should be able to pull up the purchase using that info.
OR if your buddy uses MyLowes they can look it up using that info as well (maybe phone #?)
Would they look that up even if it wasn't me? I have his name and everything, but I dunno if privacy or security reasons will prevent them from doing that.
I also want the money...It was bought for me as payment for fixing a strut on a car and if they return it to his card Ill have to let him know. Even store credit would be fine.

I'm not trying to scam Lowes out of $110 if their prices shot back up to $198, but Im also trying to get $80 out of the opener. I think I'm better off asking him for the receipt.

I would take it to Lowes, tell them you paid cash but lost your receipt. And then find out how much they will give (cash or store credit). If you don't like what they tell you, so no thanks and leave. Then put it on Craigslist.
For some reason it was hard to sell door openers around here on CL....I got a decent profit from my Chamberlain .75HP but not nearly what everyone else was getting.

Hey -- Just because you scored these things for cheap in Brocton and Plainville doesn't mean that you have to go giving them away. Raise your price. $10 is way too cheap. They need to sell for $15, or $12.50 at the lowest. Of course, if you intend to just blow them out at $10 I could just tell everyone at The SlickDeals Journal where you're getting them and put an end to the party.
This sounds like a Lowes employee to me, who's looking into my orders.
Judging by his items for sale, it's definitely a Lowes employee. Should report his *** to corporate

I just found him on eBay he must be a Lowe's employee, and a GG member too. For all you know he is a store manger that has time and the ability to search on there system. I noticed he had BOSTITCH strap shot nails like I had but at a much higher price. I'm surprised he didn't go after me when I was selling them too. Lol what a nutty guy

I'm about 20 minutes from Hobart. I have an idea who this guy might be. I was told by an employee at the Lowes closet to him, that an employee buys all the tools when they drop to 75% off. He apparently hid several boxes of combo sets that I ordered a while back.
This guy is way out of line. If someone is/wants to pay my bills (in which there is no one besides myself that does) then we can discuss my finances, if they are not paying my bills then it is none of their business. This is across the board family to friends & from real estate to buying a used car. When I get the nosey-*** question ....so how much did you buy this for? I immediately stop people in their tracks.
