Found the 5 gallon buckets for .30. Another store had the lids for .51. Said they had 8, unable to locate.

so that's 338521 for the SAE set, how about a metric set? I can't find anything.

Tried looking up 338522, that pulls up a filter. 338520 pulls up nothing.

cool thanks.. I wonder why none of the individual part numbers have any history on Google or on the Lowes site.

So, I have been watching the above 3/4 drive socket set since SPN first posted a note regarding the 3/4 drive items back in late January. I found a couple of these 20 piece socket sets in the MD/VA/DC area, but all but one were at the full price of $199.77. The exception was one set at a brand new Lowes store located in Washington, DC. When I first found it, the current price was $119.99 A few days later, the price was reduced 50% to $59.99. Continued to watch it as the price was reflected as being good until 5 April 2016.

Checked last night about 11:00 PM and noted that the price was now reduced 75%, for a total of $29.99. Quickly completed my on-line order (I know should have gone into the store, but getting travelling through DC to get to a store at 0600 is not all that easy given the traffic, plus I figured the store was closed for the night so I would have time to get there and pick up this order, plus another one I had a the store as well (bunch of cable clamps - DC met another store's clearance price due to the fact that the 44 I ordered from the other store disappeared - Customer Care helped arrange the buy - all at $.17 a pack - receipt reflects a total discount of $54.60 for the 47 packs of clamps I bought for $6.66).

Coupled the 3/4 drive purchase with a Southwire tool for $22 and used a $10 off $50 coupon to reduce the cost of the 3/4 drive set to $24 (also used a Lowes giftcard I purchased thru Staples to reduce the cost another 20% - $100 giftcard for $80). So just before midnight I get a note that my order is ready for pickup. Check and of course the 3/4 set is not available. Man was I pissed, as I checked and it had disappeared from the on-line inventory as well. Not much I could do, so went to bed.

Travelled to the store first thing in the AM and went straight to the tool corral. Imagine my surprise when I walked straight to socket sets and found the 3/4 drive, with the clearance sticker on it (read $59.99) sitting on the shelf. Took it to Customer Service and asked for one of the two managers I was supposed to meet for my cable clamps. Of course, despite assurances that both would be there in the AM, neither were there. When I asked for the Store Manager, I was told the management staff was in a meeting. After waiting another 10 minutes, I expressed by lack of happiness to the sales clerk who worked hard to get an MOD out to see me. He was clueless with respect to the cable clamps, or couldn't understand my being upset about the failure to include the 3/4 drive set with the rest of my on-line order. So I took the time to talk slowly, with one sylable words, to express his and his employees incompetence, and told him that he had better find the clamps, and do something to make amends for the on-line order screw-up before I called Corporate and request that his boss come out of his meeting.

Needless to say, we worked it out. Cable clamps were found and paid for. 3/4 set was given to me for my inconvenience. So what started out as a 90% reduction through waiting, coupons, and discounted giftcard, became a 100% reduction, or free. Not sure as to what I will use this on, but given that I have some rear suspension work on my 1952 Chevy truck planned, who know. All I know is that it is extreme heavy and appeard to be well made.

Thanks again to Bobcat and SPN for posting info regarding this set, and the other 3/4 drive tools.....

YOU ****! I really want one but there are none around me.

I know where there are another five of them....but unfortunately they are full price. Think if I were going to spend that kind of money - for a socket set that I will hardly use - would go with the sets sold by Home Depot (their Husky 14 piece Set for $149 or the Tekton 21 piece set for $84.85).

Nice set. Got one for me, my dad, and a coworker. Made in Taiwan. Still trying to find a metric set, but I can't find anything. Maybe one doesn't exist. Usually you can just change the item number by +1 or -1, but not for this.

Kind of like the Craftsman 3/4 set, I only see SAE. All of the loose stock 3/4 drive sockets I've seen at Sears are SAE, no metric.

$64.50 in Essex, VT half price

Lowes usually resets the price once a store is sold out, but there are a couple of stores showing no inventory and prices under $10.
Someone might invoke the "price reduction protection" or a return/rebuy.

Anybody ever had any luck with Lowes in another location shipping you an item if you pay for the costs?

If you select the location online, they'll ship it to you from that store for the cost they have it for usually. If you're talking about things not listed online, no idea.

I ordered a Bosch 12v hackzall once for like $30 on clearance. Hundreds of miles away. Called the store and made something up about how I Was out of town thinking it was asking a lot, and they had no problem shipping it, had a fixed rate and everything in place to do so. So I think at least for smaller items it's no problem, at least that's how it seemed.

Unfortunately D-cell maglites tend to have battery leaks.

You ain't kidding. I've lost 2 to battery leaks. I know battery manufacters will replace the light but I ndidn't bother. I have the Defiant brand lights from Home Depot and love them

I switched to flashlights that use lithium batteries. I hate leaking.

Everything is lithium in my house now, remotes, lights, etc.

Just to add to the Maglite comments, sent 2 off around Thanksgiving. Still haven't gotten them back yet. One was a 3 cell AA led light. Apparently, no longer made and no parts so they 'upgraded' me. To what I don't know.
