Seems like a good buy. Has anyone used these? Almost seems to good to be true that they actually work well. Ha-ha thoughts?

I have one of these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U89QBU/?tag=atomicindus08-20 and I've used the top hilti one, both are dead on accurate. Seeing the laser in bright light is tough but in normal light, etc. it's easy.

Works great for crown molding, baseboard, etc.

Was going to ask just that. Accurate enough to do crown and baseboards. It's just so crazy that it even works ha-ha. Measuring for crown is the worst.

If you know anyone that is a real estate agent this would be the best gift you could give them. I always hated getting accurate Sq ft of clients houses and then bought a laser and it takes a fraction of the time and in most cases is more accurate because there is no furniture and stuff in the way.

I have the ~150 foot model . That thing is dead nuts accurate. I used it measuring for porch railings last Summer instead of a tape measure. Short distance I know but dead on measurements.

Before I bought one, for crown, base, etc. I would measure 10" off one wall, mark it, then measure to that point and add the 10" back in. With the laser, it's very very accurate. Measure the wall, I'll add in maybe an 1/8" for longer runs and spring fit the crown or base.

The higher end ones like Leica, Hilti, etc. have more options for volume, memory of the measurements, etc. I borrowed a friends top of the line Hilti and would take 4 or 5 measurements of crown runs, go outside cut them and bring all the pieces back in and they fit perfectly. Those may be slightly more accurate for over 100 ft runs but how often would you need to be 1/32" accurate over 120 ft run.

A lot of people who don't need it for accuracy use it for speed measurements in estimating. Drywall contractors, flooring contractors, carpet guys, etc. in and out quickly.

When I said accurate that was meant in a vague sense of a real estate agent. Usually determine Sq ft from measuring outside of house, but with this day and age of technology more people r wanting each room measured for more precise Sq ft measurements. Prior to laser, with tape u would have furniture in way or weird shape rooms etc... Now you just shoot it across room save it and go to next room etc. Literally saves me at least an hour per house if not more.

These show as $24.97 on website for my location but they had a big display of them marked $6.24, it rang up $24.97 but they corrected it for me.

Seems like a decent light with two brightness levels and red LED.

I've seen those priced at the normal $24, $18, etc. If your store has it for $24 or $18, look online at the inventory for surrounding stores. The stores with the highest number will probably have it for the lower price.

I got those Bosch laser level things at HD last year. Haven't used yet. One is 140ft and the other is 225ft So these things work with the 1/32" accuracy out to the limit or does it get worse the further out?

I have used the 140' Bosch Laser measurer a few times with good luck. It is definitely easier than a tap for those long runs.

Need your zip to check closer to your location.
Chamblee, Sandy Springs, S Dekalb-Lithoni, Camp Creek are showing zero in stock.
Surprisingly it's showing shipping is available. Price in 10941 is showing $40 instead of $80

Don't you just hate it when the next page has all the answers. :lol_hitti

Found last one at my local store, but priced at $30. Bought it as a house warming gift for a friend's house. I was hoping it would scan at $12.50, no such luck.

I can't believe they ever got $100 for that... there's like $20 of tools in there. I found one in a local store 2 days ago, still scanning at $99.98.

Its really difficult to hold them steady at that range. Close range & held steady they are extremely accurate

I can't speak to accuracy, but I can speak to precision.

I've got the Craftsman version that's good to around 125' (it only claims 100').

I put the **** of it on a door jamb in my office, and shot the laser at a door across the atrium. Measured a number around 75'. I then moved the **** over to the wall and shot the distance to the same door across the atrium. It was able to see that it was now around 1/2" further.

That is the accuracy at the maximum range. I have the 225. It works great for calculating long runs of conduit etc. I will say that the further you go ( say over 100ft) the more it is helpful to use a tripod or set it on something. I just keep a little jobi with magnet feet in my tool bag with it.

These were $9.99 each. I probably should have grabbed another of the 2-piece. The cutters are a different model than the ones we've been grabbing on clearance for the past month.

The 338 (top) is about 1/4" shorter than the E338 (bottom). E338 has XLT (Xtreme Leverage Technology)

I picked up a two pack of bosch 3.0 batteries for $59. They also found a two pack of 4.o that should sell for $149 and I got them to sell to me for $75.

Bought two more of the Channel Lock dykes today for $10. They were on an unmarked peg, scanned them with the phone app.
