Nothing worthwhile at my local Lowes. They marked down Holiday stuff even more, I think like 75% off now...

Didn't have that model porter cable, they had some other ones but they were normal price. Had some of those cobalt tools others mentioned at the discounted prices, but didn't bother as I'm not a Kobalt person...

Was pretty quiet overall, I think they are just winding down the holiday stuff and will re-organize for the usual Spring sales....

He said the employees grabbed them up and just hadn't checked them out.

They are not allowed to do that - call customer service and complain. The manager will make it right.

The employees are not allowed to "stash" merchandise or purchase anything during their shift, and the DM will discipline them even if the store manager will not.

I directly asked her "does the system let you buy something that a customer has already purchased online?" Get this- her answer was "oh yeah, it doesn't stop you because it's still in inventory until it's picked up".

She either doesn't understand the system or is misleading you. When you get the order confirmation, the item has been found, pulled, and is waiting. It is no longer in inventory.

Larger orders and items will sometimes be staged in the lumber aisle. One day I watched a guy pull an OOS item from one of those carts and try to buy it. The register flagged it as unavailable, the manager was called, and they eventually figured it out.

I felt sorry for whoever came after me expecting one since they got a confirmation for pickup, and instead got "ugh, we can't find it, sorry." They need to fire people.

I have had that experience - the "trick" is not to agree to let them cancel the order. They cannot cancel the order without the customer's permission. Ask to talk to the manager, and if they won't resolve it, insist that they actually come out and talk to you, that usually takes care of it.

They do fire employees for this, but they need us to report these incidents so they can take action.

stealing it out from under a customers completed purchase is nuts.

If you have gotten the confirmation, the purchase has been paid for, and it really is stealing. If you refuse a refund, they have to provide the merchandise.

About to head to Lowes & HD while running other errands... Unfortunately that Porter Cable saw doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere within 50 miles of me. :( Maybe I will be able to find something else good though.

Grabbed one at $17.49, was the lowest price I could find, from $49.97, $39.98, $24.99, to $23.74. Just no $9.99

A while back I was looking at some clearance framed picture for the house. Walked by the key counter and saw 2 clearance framed pictures on the counter. I asked the old man behind the counter if these are for sales (has the clearance tag) he said those are his.

He did not exactly hide them but it sounds like he broke store policy. I was not a fan of lows in the first place but knowing this it will be harder for me to give them a second chance.

God forbid an employee actually show up EARLY for work if they want to get one of those clearance deals instead of doing it while they are on the clock.

Lowe's policy is they can only buy AFTER their shift is over, probably to avoid employees grabbing stuff before it even hits the floor or the store is open.

So they grab it up during their shift, hide it and then pay when their shift is over lol.

I work at Lowe's part time,, I do it all the time. I'll give you my bosses name if you want, they don't have no such policy and she will just laugh at you

No, I don't want to get you fired. Lowe's corporate originally told me that is the policy, several employees have confirmed and have read it in the policy manual myself.

Oh, wait, I misread your post, you said they "don't" "have no such policy" meaning they do have that policy.

Lowes corporate will tell you what ever they think you want to hear. They are pretty full of ****. I have several friends that work for corporate and they will be the first to tell you that if the products in their stores sell they really could care less who buys them. They like any other company are in the business to make money not make all people happy. So quoting what "policy" BS you were told most likely was to get you off the phone. At the end of the day the company really only cares about themselves and the shareholders.

I suppose that is possible, but that has not been my experience. As stated the policy is in the policy manual for any employee or customer to read, and it is enforced in this area.

In at least two cases, they investigated, determined which employee had violated the policy, terminated the employee, and recovered the merchandise.

You could be right, it could be an exception, but it has certainly resolved the issue at my stores.

The reason corporate cares is that it annoys the customers, and they shop at HD. With the rate at which Lowes is losing market share, they are desparate to retain every customer.

I suppose it could possibly be regional as well, maybe they have already given up on your area and don't think it can be salvaged.

We all care because it's information on how to actually get the deals posted in this thread.

I thought discussion of the deals and methods was on-topic for this thread, but if not, I assume the mods will let us know.
Debating the rules on employee purchases does not help with how to get a deal. Sorry if I offended anyone, but in my opinion what an employee does is their business. And no, I'm not an employee. Lol

Local store cleared out the rest of the Christmas decoration/seasonal stuff and made way for the New Years storage and get organized event where people will clean and organize for 2 days and return to their old ways.

But they did dig out some Black Friday stuff that was stashed on the top shelf and forgotten about.

Picked up 2 of the Porter Cable saws @ $10.00 each. Had to drive an hour to get them, but that was okay. Found a couple of other hot deals that made the trip worthwhile.
Thanks BigMike!

did you find them for 9.98 or will the store match the price? i found some at 39 and 23 but an hour away from me as well.

Debating the rules on employee purchases does not help with how to get a deal.

I understand that is your opinion, but others disagree. It's OK you have a different opinion, and it's OK that you express it, just please understand that others disagree and other peoples' opinions are valid, too.

If one does not know the rules or how to get them enforced, it is difficult to get the better deals. Knowing the rules and how to get them enforced enables one to get the deals posted in this thread - so it is arguably the most critical information on how to get a deal.

This is a community, and the community and moderators decide what is on-topic and useful discussion, rather than one person with an outlying opinion.

Just my 2 cents. This is a deal forum. I learned the hard, as soon as everybody starts expressing their opinions, or how they got screwed over, is what led to the demise at the Home Depot thread in 2016. Post whatever deal you find. Your opinion, legal wise, merit wise or otherwise doesn't matter. We are smart enough to decide whether we like the deal or not without someones input. As soon as someone expresses an opinion this whole forum takes off in another direction.

what zip code, as mine still comes up 29.99 in central florida (32771)

Winter garden,FL. is @ 7.50, Plant City is 7.50 and Riverview,FL. $7.50.
Those are the ones I found on a quick check. I'm sure there might be others throughout the state.
