HeyNow, they are a discontinued model, so if they don't have one now, its highly unlikely they'll be getting any in. Easiest way to find one is to go the online link and keep changing stores for local pickup until you can hopefully find one not too far away.

Mine came in a box with styrofoam encasing the compressor and a plastic bag with the manual, 2 rubber feet, and 2 plastic circle intake valves that screw in. Looks like you might have to go back to your store or contact their CS to see how you can get all the missing parts...

It was just in a bag (i believe ziptied to the handle), but it was pretty obvious, you cant miss it.

Did your compressor at least have the little placard attached to the handle with the 'features' and what you should use it for?

Yeah, Mine had the placard attached to the blow off handle, just no air filters, no feet, and no manual. Still not a bad deal for $188 including the tax (lowes card get's another 5% off making this $174+ tax)

Mine definately looks like the one on the left with the yellow letters.

Bought two tonight... A much better improvement over my loud Camp. Compressor. Plus it only got to 110-120 PSI and this gets to 152 before it kills out. My IR impact gun rocks now!

Here is what I did.... Look up the Lowes in PA. W. Phil. 221495. Print the ad out and bring it in. They will look it up themselves and then match the price. The manager that okayed mine was gabbing on the phone as well.

neither of the lowes in my area would price match and out of district (much less out of state) lowes price on a clearance item

I really think we need a "getting Lowes to mark down price" thread by some of these guys.

It felt like moving mountains to get it down to $265. Plus, I was just returning from the veterinarian from an early morning ordeal (worked out ok), and the person working behind the counter was a vet tech in an earlier job.

Dang... I was stoked... Look it up at the website for that store and price out shipping to your door.

I got a boxed one and a floor model one. The air silencer on the one had the wrong size fitting. Let me put it this way, way quieter than my other air compressor.

My local store still has 2-3 in stock...but for $460 though. I haven't asked if they'd match prices at another store though. Highly doubtful since it seems like most of you guys who have been getting them are well out of this region.

I guess I'll just have to keep looking out for the price to drop!

OK guys, what am I missing here? I checked a bunch of different stores near me in CT and the W. Philly store mentioned above and they all have it listed for $429 and none of them have any weekly specials ads at this time.

Can anyone point me to a store that had an ad for them at the low price so I can try to price match it locally?

FYI, I actually put the compressor in my shopping cart, and got to one of the final purchase screens before I printed it out - I think it made the price look more official.

Just bought one for $253 out the door in Vallejo Ca.

Now if I can only find someone to load and unload it for me (just had knee surgery last tuesday)...

Edit: I do have a print out of a store having the $183 dollar deal. I am going to take it with me and see if they can credit my account for the difference. Hopefully they will; fingers crossed.

They'll load it for you.

This thing seems to have an industrial 1/4" hose coupler on it. Anyone know where I could grab one of those ends for my hose? I didn't see any at lowes, and HF couplers make me nervous due to some thread's I'd read on them shattering...

And for unloading, not sure what you are bringing it home in (box is ~49 inches tall), but what I did was cut the box away in the bed of my truck, but my ramps up (2x12 with metal ramp tops) to the tailgate and just wheeled it down the ramps using the wheels of the compressor. Just make sure your ramps aren't wet and slippery! One of mine was wet, I slipped and it got close to being ugly!

Picked up one of these compressors. There was no manual, and no other parts in the box. Is this correct? Does anyone have a manual, or the gist of what needs to be done to break this thing in?

Mine had the manual(with the warranty paperwork),two rubber feet in one plastic bag and the two filters in another. Both were sitting on the top of the compressor when I opened it.

Manual says to let it run with the drain valve on the bottom open for 30 minutes.

I have Milton V fittings (purchased from Northern Tool) from my previous compressor, and immediately swapped out the OE fittings for the V's when I opened the box.

At any rate, I have no had any problems with Lowes or HD couplers anyway, I use them on my cheaper tools. Although they do tend to leak a little bit if banged around the floor enough.

Just scored one in Richmond VA downtown Lowe's. 171 after tax and 5% off for a lowes card.

Sweet deal. Not sure who found this but thank you and thank GJ!!!

But I did get the new one for the sweet deal price.

Do you suppose the old one is that much better?

LOWES just called me back. Found the old style in the back of the store and they are holding it for me.

Glad I have a lift to get the darn thing in and out of the pickup!!

Hmm, not sure what you mean there. I have two hoses from other compressors that work just fine with it. The one I plan to use with it is a 25' hose from my old PC compressor. Do you mean you can't just push-to-connect the hose with your hose fitting? I've noticed that some couplers require the "automotive" hose fittings to have that feature work - other couplers (labeled 'universal' in Lowes/HD) the push-to-connect works with either type of hose fitting.

Hope that helps, and hope I didn't confuse the issue further

I bought an upright from Lowes a couple years ago. I was also told it had to be transported upright. It didn't come with oil in I had to buy that seperately. I also did 30 minute run with the drain valve open then changed the oil. I don't use it a whole lot. It replaced a 6 year old Craftsman 25 gallon oil less. The new one is a 60 gallon and much quieter.
Does the silencers really work?

I just Picked one up in Dublin, Ca, last one they had.
I came across it and I saw the tag said clearance-177.99!
I could not pass it up. Then I asked about a military/veteran discount and it knocked off another 10% bringing it down to 156.00 and some change!
They ask for ID though and all I had was a ID card from the VA.
The Lowes in the next town over has the same one still for 429.99 and would not price match.

Well I got the old version home and took the new version back. The new version is mush nicer looking....all smooth and plasticky. The old version look like a compressor should.

THe new version was slightly louder and seemed to have a "rap" to it as it pumped. The old version is much smoother.

The old version is a V shaped 2 cylinder compressor whereas the new one is an inline 2 cylinder. Old has 2 silencer/ inlets, new only has one.

I like the wheels, the lower profile and the heft of the old one.

The guys at Lowe's looked at me like I was a little nuts. "you want the old 1.6 hp one instead of the new one?"

They swapped it out no questions asked.

If anyone's interested there's one in the Portland area for <$214.50. It's at the Lacamas Lake, WA store.

It's marked $214.50 but the manager will knock off another 10%.

Here's why:
- The cage is a little bent (no big deal)
- The oil breaker tube is broken off (again, no big deal)
- The air filters are missing (probably not a big deal)
- One part of the cooling fin on the compressor is broken off.

This unit looks like it fell over at one point or sustained some mild shipping damage. They look to be very top heavy.

I think this unit will be OK and it's the only one in the Portland area that's heavily discounted. I bet someone could get the store to go even lower then 10% off the $214.50 price.

Hope this helps.

ACK, you are killing me.

I saw that one last night online (I was searching for the cheepest one in the bay area) and it said $489. So I grabbed the one in Vallejo for $213.

I'm sending you a PM if you don't mind.

Yew bastids! It's $459 at my local store.

Not that I care. Earlier this year, I bought a basically unused used one of the generation before the V-twin model (guess what? inline 2) for... $275! Mildly damaged but repairable, Craigslist.

Yew bastids!

Can these be transported in the back of a VW Golf 3 door?
Yes.
Is it wise to do so?
NO.

Lowes Clearance - get the 75% wherever you are in US - Instructions!
First, credit to others for finding the deals.

http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...&t=3336930

http://slickdeals.net/forums/show...?t=3336808

have some great deals in them.

However, if your in florida or california or other southern states you dont get these prices.

Here is how you can buy at the biggest discount even if your area has a higher price, I dont believe anyone has posted this before.

1. You will need 2 different browsers to make this work (I used iMac and iPad)

2. Go to lowes.com and make an account if you dont already have one.

3. Click whatever product link for what you want to buy.

4. Change your shop at this store location to an area that has the lowest price and that still shows at least one in stock. Use zip code 19131.

5. Add the item to card after selecting pickup at that store.

6. Go to your cart, sign in your account or enter in your info.

7. Go to CHECKOUT

8. Before you enter in your credit card info, click change store.

9. Now, open up your 2nd browser and go to back to Lowes.com, sign in your account. DO NOT open your cart, it will change the price back. Click the checkout button, put in your payment, and submit your order. Make sure you show the right store when you signed in the 2nd browser, if not, change it to the store you want to pick up from before you click checkout.

10. Get confirmation email and go pick up your items!

Hope this helps you.

A bit involved but it worked, just have to make sure the store you choose has it in stock. The first one I chose didn't so I had to start over with another store. I got one for $183 plus tax.

thanks for the lead.

The box I think is ~2 feet square and 49 inches tall
Weight listed on the compressor lable/sticker is 169lbs
VERY top heavy in the box so loading it into something by yourself would be very difficult unless you are a World's Strongest Man competitor!

Worked here, thanks for posting. I can't open those SD links so I appreciate the blow-by-blow. I have a nice horizontal compressor but will need a stand-up in my new place. I've been watching this thread but not wanting the haggle -- Thank you Wiggum!
