I stopped by my local Lowes today and picked up the 1/4" sockets for $5.98 but I went looking for the crossform wrenches but they were $24.98

I wanted two sets of the 14-piece pliers. Yes, the Wauwatosa store would be closer and I might have already gone if I knew for sure they had the pliers in stock.

Maybe I'll call the store tomorrow and make the drive if they have them in stock...

I'll hit Oshkosh tomorrow AM, if they have two in stock I'll pick 'em up for you if you want them, if not I can return them, I'm at all the stores on a regular basis :)

98TJ,
If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the 14-piece mini pliers in the store? What were they marked at?

Correction. The sticker that was on them showed a regular price of $39.98, on sale for $19.98, and I got them at the advertised online price of $9.98

Stopped by lowes and the cross form wrenches are back up to $25, darn. But I did get a 1/4" drive socket set for $6 out the door. I might just stash it away for next years SS since I already have them from Craftsman, just missing my 8mm.

Print out the online sale and take it to the store like I did.

Just tell them you wanted to make sure they were in stock before you purchased online and chose local pickup.

I like Kobalt tools, more than Craftsman. It's just too bad about their warranty. Last time I snapped an extension bar they wouldn't replace it because I didn't have a receipt. I told them if they didn't replace it I'd take all my business to Sears, and I did. But I did just buy some pliers thismorning from lowes.

I could swear the "lifetime warranty" stamp on the packaging says "no hassle".

K, I'm getting very sick of Lowes ********.

The mini pliers which were in stock yesterday are now hidden and they refuse to say anything other than it shows their inventory as 0. So they're trying to not sell them or honor the sale price.

I went to place an order online, and it's stating all my 10% off coupons "have already been used on Lowes.com", even though it does that for all and I have never used any of them.

Getting sick of Lowes. I just checked and I spent $11,379.32 with them in 2011.

I wrote Lowe's a courteous email expressing my frustration. The result was that the local store managers worked to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I'm 100% happy with the outcome.

I was hoping that a lot of the deals would still be good after the new year, but everything that I clicked on from earlier in the thread is back up to full price (double). Oh, well, it's not that I had to have some of it, but I would have bought quite a few things at half off.
