I have a bunch of older C-man stuff, mostly all USA made. Sears was always the easy route to warranty if something broke, but my local big-box Sears closed the doors a few months back. My local Sears hometown store has a big "Available" sign out front. I thought they were closed.
I had the tip snap off of a 1/8" flathead the other week so I ran out to Lowes, to find that they don't have any individual tools available, just multiple tool kits or power tool kits. At least at my store. Basically the same stuff that showed up around Father's Day, plus the new 20v power tools.
Turns out the Hometown store was still open, and they took care of me. But once they're gone, what's the easy route?
Craftsman's website says that Lowes will be an over-the-counter exchange - but I fail to see how if they don't stock individual tools.
