Just venting-
Last weekend I broke my Craftsman digi-tork. Did some internet searching and Lowes had 16 in stock, went to the store finally found the spot for them on the hangar and not there. Hmmm, OK found the helper, we went back to the same spot, he looks up in the system, they're all in plumbing.....so I ask the obvious question are they for Christmas stock/specials? We go over to plumbing and a whole pallet of items is on the very top shelf. Yes, that is a Christmas stock item. Oh we can get it down but we need a manager to get it out of the system, 10 minutes later manager's gone for the day and no one else knows hot to get it out of the system. Come back tomorrow or order it online and they'll have it ready for you tomorrow.
I went to another store on the way home and bought a Tekton for $20 less. I like my Craftsman but have a low tolerance level for 'system' issues to sell an in stock item.

The "come back tomorrow" burns my ***. Unless it's a legit sorry we screwed up, no, either we do this now or I'll go elsewhere.

******* call your manager, the pope, Mr Lowes himself for all I care before I fire up the forklift and pull that **** down myself!
Maybe I drove an hr or two here and can't just swing by like I live next door and have absolutely nothing to do vs working 80+ hr weeks.

My water filter housing cracked and was spraying water on Sunday evening. Drive 20 mins to local Lowes, out of stock. Closest in stock was 50 miles away. Water shut off, and would be for at least a week as I was leaving town Monday morning.

I get there 15 mins before closing, takes forever to find, then wait in line and it's almost my turn when it hit closing time.

Sorry sir, you'll have to come back tomorrow.

The **** I will! I'm leaving with this. You ring it up an take my money, or don't, I don't care.

They rang it up.

I told them I would get the forklift and do it myself. Yeah, once I'm out of the house driving to get something I ain't goin' back tomorrow! Only downside was all three guys were trying to be helpful so I didn't get irate with them.

Attitude of the workers definitely goes a long way. Be lazy or don't give a damn and I turn into a "******* *******" I've been told.

Oh darn 🤣

I was buying refrig, stove, microwave, dishwasher everything for the new house. Go to ring it up and try to write a check. Run it through their system and sorry, we can't accept it due to not enough data in their system. Lowes would accept a credit card though. Sorry, I'm not putting $5,000 worth of stuff on a credit card simply because your "system" doesn't have enough data. Someone at this store or at corporate office has the authority to accept a check. Let's call them. A nice guy behind me in line and I tell him sorry, were gonna be here for a while.
Well, they won. I put all of it on a credit card.

Nowadays they want us all to do self check out while they have someone check receipts at the door. Nope! I own stock in Home Depot. I go there.

No rant from me, make sure lumber is in stock before going there, learned the hard way. Overall Lowes and Home Depot are good stores, places I do all my shopping for DIYer projects online and in store. Don't solely rely on store associates regarding tools and materials, do your own research before buying. IMHO If too lazy or not enough time hire the Pros to do it right.
