Whenever I move a box, especially a ball bearing box, I got into the habbit of throwing a non ratcheting (pull tite) strap around the box to make sure the drawers can't open.

Retrieved my new eye level unit from my buddies towing operation. They were snow slammed all week and I was out of town, so today was the chosen day. Got it loaded and labeled.

Looks real good next to the toolbox. You will be able to fit a lot in those two cabinets plus you have that nice stainless work surface. We appreciate being able to help.

Got another Lista Cabinet. $350

Figured I'd show what these things can do for those that don't know.

This cabinet was Lista Blue, but the PO painted it Black.

It is 5' 4 1/2" high, 4' 8" wide, 28 1/2" depth

The tap/die drawer is a couple hundred pounds. 1 finger open/close.

The bottom puller drawer is probably 300+ lbs. Takes a little more than 1 finger to open, but less than 1 hand.

The pictures do not do justice for how big these cabinets are.

I know this is Lust for Lista....

But here's a big Vidmar (that I think I posted when I got it as well. CRS).

It is 5 feet wide.

$200 from making some dude pull over on the side of the freeway. It was in his truck, told him I'd buy it. He just bought it, had buyers remorse, and delivered it right then.

The big bottom drawer holds my little 110 Lincoln, an extra helmet, my case and base compressor, and my SteelMax 14" dry saw.

And here's my other cabs and some Lyons I just picked up.

The Lyons are getting stripped down and painted white.

All the cabinets are getting painted Rustoleum Oil Based Gloss White with black handles. A frikin project that never ends. You can see one Nu-Era that just the box is painted and I have the drawers prepped.

Nice job on all those cabinets, I think a few of them may even be suckage worthy.

Thanks Strouty. But you know what. Every SINGLE TIME I get one of these and I'm taking apart and cleaning years of **** off and out of them, I promise myself "next time" I'd rather just spend $1,000+ and get a very nice one.

But I'm a cheap *******, so when they pop up on CL, I think, Hell, What's one more to clean. lol. Vicious cycle I'll tell ya.

One day I'll get a white EPIQ like yours.

My lista storage wall has been one of the best purchases that I have made. Love the versatility and expandability.

Wondered what happened to this thread...........

Finished up scabbing together 2 junkyard Listas, mainly for supplies. Added it to my collection tonight. I lined them all up for so I could admire them, like you did as a boy with toy trucks, or army men. Haha. I seriously doubt they'll stay lined up, I'm just getting ready to do some cleaning.

Thinking about ordering some IDLs and a lock to bring everything up to full speed if they aren't too salty.

I was hoping there'd be no 18ga on Lista, but at least some of the internal structures are 12ga. I wish the outer shell was 16ga.

Dude these things are built like brick **** houses. Far better then any tool box I've ever played with and yes I have a SO box here to compare it too.

Their light weight drawers are rated at 250lbs and all the regular stuff comes with a 400lb per drawer rating.

If you wanna see what the innerds look like, click on the link in my sig and dig thru.

Unless you're storing lead or gold, I honestly don't see how you could overload a Lista drawer. I have one full of all my porta power pumps and rams, probably at least 250 pounds, and not the least issue whatsoever.

I looked through every page in your link. I was so impressed, I felt dizzy and faint. You do beautiful work and I'll take your word for it about the Lista stoutness. :)

You can overload them, trust me. Pretty hard to do on the narrow drawers but when you get to the 60” wide ones, all bets are off. All my wide drawers are the older style and the undercarriage can bottom out on the drawer below. The newest style may not have as much of an issue, but I bet they still would rub.

On the wide drawers, while rated at 400, that I'm sure is a spread out load. If you are having issues with the bottom bowing down you ad either add a stiffener or three, or of the depth and items allow, toss in a piece of 1/4" or 3/8 ply to spread the load.

Still the best built boxes around... I love my MATCO, but I'd trade for a 60" X 22 X 60 Lista with lots of shallow drawers in a red hot minute.

So to agree with LXCam, yeah. They are stout. You get that feeling when you attach a work top for sure. I would say I think the outer skin dents easier than something like my old Mac, but that's not what's important. You could cut big chunks out of the skin and not phase it. I don't want it to be super rigid, otherwise there would only be 3 wheels on the ground most of the time. The full depth, dividers, slide system, and the flexible drawer height config is the big selling point here to me.

Curious, is there a Lista product in about a 72 X 30" foot print?

I have a couple pieces of steel I should put to good use, and am tire kicking some options for now.

I can't remember a cabinet wider then the 60" wide drawer units like jeeper got. But if you click on the link in my sig within the first post are a combination of two cabinets that would get you really close to what you want with the exception of the overall depth being just a tad over 28". But between my 42" and 18" wide drawer units the combined width is 69-1/4". Plus both these cabinets I see like regular business on joes site under the Junkyard section.

As LXCAM commented, 60" is about the widest I have seen. I have used a 60" wide in the past and that is about as wide of a drawer as you would want. At that width in a Vidmar you needed to pull the drawer open close to the center to operate smoothly.

A DW (double-width) housing is 28 1/2 x 56 1/2........add a hinged door to the front of it and its 29 1/2 x 56 1/2.

A pair of EW housings side by side gets you to 69" width.

Your dead on about having to pull from the center, my 60" Vidmar is the same way.

My 52" lista no issue.

56 inch scratch and dent from American Workspace. It has a stainless power top that I had not seen on a Lista before. I got lucky, this was a demo unit used at a trade show

Just a heads up all you salivating over a decent deal on a cabinet. American work shop looks to have filled up their junkyard special section again with a nice selection of stuff.

Joe if you're paying attention you owe me ya ole koot. ;)

Old post I realize, but it looks like American Workspace website is no longer showing scratch and dent specials.

"After 10 years of Junkyard Specials we're moving on to bigger and better things. The Junkyard was great for all of us and now it's time for us to be even greater. As an Authorized Lista and Vidmar Distributor we can still provide the same products, right off the assembly line, and at really great prices. We are adding new products and trimming prices on everything. We now have additional discounts for EFT payments. Buy a lot, get even better pricing. Call us for more details. We're selling off our residual Junkyard Specials at incredibly low, low prices. It's time to make a great deal. Sign up for our Newsletter (in the bottom right hand corner) for early notification of new Junkyard Specials."

Yup, I got an email from them about that, real shame, I would bet most of us would rather buy a scratch and dent cabinet than pay full price.

So those days are gone like the Dodo bird huh. Welp I’m sure someone else is lined up to take up the slack. I also imagine it was a pita managing and storing all of it. Thanks for the heads up.

So Yes, it is true we are no longer promoting our Junkyard Specials on our web site. it has been a long time making this decision and our customers deserve and expect the straight answer.

On February 3, 2017 I suffered a real nasty stroke that put me in the hospital for almost two weeks and doing rehab for months. I started walking without a cane for my daughters September 3rd wedding; yes I walked her down the aisle and my health has also recovered to a reasonable degree. Thanks in large part to my family, friends, and business associates i'm doing well, just a bit beat up.

Time is marching on and handling large installations and Junkyard Special was getting way to strenuous on my health and where we wanted to be as a company. We are a Platinum Level Authorized Distributor for Lista and Vidmar and also for Strong-Hold as well as Bally Block. Our focus has always been on our main line business, Workspace and Storage Solutions. We may have some Junkyard Special units available from time to time but no longer on a regular basis,

We will still be here to provide this group with technical support, parts, instructions and also new units at incredibly good prices. Were not going anywhere, just fine tuning our business and lives. Remember Garage Journal folks always get a much better discount than prices posted; just ask and you will receive.

Thanks you all for everything,
Joe Germann
