Thanks for your kind words and understanding. I'm doing fine and now realize I'm not invincible and have to let go of a few thing.

We love storage walls and know them quite well. Let me know your ideas when you are ready.

Joe

Sorry to hear about that Joe, glad you are on the mend and thanks for letting us know what is up. I am going to have to talk with you about some storage wall soon.

I might give Joe a call this week but in the meantime......

Does anyone have experience with the rolling shelves? Do they install just like a drawer? Is the chassis special or standard.

I'm thinking about adding 2 more Lista's to the fleet this year and I'm going to end up ordering some partially populated chassis, with some shelves. I'll want to do some swapping around of drawers and shelves combined with what I already have.

The ones I have yes, but they use the now "old" metal bearing system. I do not k ow with the new susesnsion sysrem, but they advertise that you can upgrade old cabinets to the new (plastic) system so i would think you could still mix and match.

You can mix and match “old” and “new” no problem, except if you have the “ancient” cabinets, but they are not that common, if I remember correctly they are just drawers that slide on mounted bearings, not a quick change style like the “old” and “new” styles. Basically anything made in the last 30 years should intermingle with the “new” ones. If you want new drawers or the slide out shelves, you will have to buy the new style slides too. I have a mix of both, the new style are very nice since you don’t have the metal carriage to deal with.

Okay, here's the deal on OLD vs NEW drawer assemblies. For transitional purposes the NEW drawer suspension happened about 10 years ago. The OLD drawers used steel roller bearings that nobody ever cleaned and lubed; hence they got hard to use and often would wear out. The NEW suspension uses Poly bearings and we have had absolutely no bearing problems in the past 10 years. They really, really work fantastic.

OLD and NEW both use U-Channel steel rails on each side that are mounted in 1" increments onto the housing. You can move these to any position in a housing however the U-Channels are different on each side and are also different on OLD vs NEW. The OLD drawer suspension uses a separate under-drawer roller tray while the NEW uses just a sliding suspension track.

Now, about fitment ... The dimensions on both the drawers and housings is different from each other so LISTA will not commit to a drawer (with full suspension) interchangeability between the two. In other words, according to LISTA they should not be mixed.

Having said that, customers have told us that they have successfully interchanged drawers OLD and NEW in OLD and NEW housings. I would be interested in hearing from those that have either done this or attempted to do this. Let us know your experience.

I've never seen anyone advertise you can upgrade OLD with NEW into an OLD housing. Who says that?

The Roll Out Trays install just like drawers.
Same Old vs NEW rules apply.

Last year I replaced a 250mm high drawer (New style) with 2 125mm drawer (old style). I can confirm that this was easy to do. And everything fits fine.

I do remember that I needed to bend the lips a little bit to get them latched in the slots in the cabinet.

I now have been using then for over a year and had no issues.

I don't have any pictures of the swap unfortunally.
