Thinking about selling my old toolbox. Just taking up room. Just curious to know what it might be worth.

Around here, that might be worth $350-$500. It would take a while to sell.
Around me boxes are hard to sell in general, old boxes do not sell well at all.
Personally I find those short, narrow drawers useless.
Cant say about value but thought I would chime in anyway. I just inherited the same set from my brother, used very hard, but still great boxes in my opinion. The bottom is a Mac (made by Matco) 1977, and the top a Matco 1978. Put different wheels on lower to fit under a workbench, and put top on part of my other lower. They needed some major cleaning and lock work, their ugly but work great. I dig the vintage stuff, I say keep em.
Mac is owned by Stanley tool .
I don't know who owns Mac now or then, but my lower Mac tools box from 1977 is stamped Matco near the bottom, from what I gather Matco was the tool box manufacturer for Mac before they broke out on their own.
There was an (identical?) Matco set on Craigs here locally for about two months back in the November-December timeframe that the PO was trying to get $300 for but couldnt. I offered $200 and kept in touch with him until he gave them away to a relative.
JMO, but those boxes are pretty nice being slightly wider than what was "normal" back in the day, but sadly theyre not worth diddly in the real world bc theyre not old enough to be considered vintage. Stick in back in the shed another few decades....
there!
