Ok, time for a update.... Got the power in this weekend. 200 amp panel and three 2" conduits to the gutter and the gutter tying it to the in-ground rough, six 1" and one 2" to distribute to key locations in the shop.

Also got the grading and base in for the access.

I will get pictures asap.

Mike

Hi$$: Great build. Understand the frustration with not being on site at ALL times. Just not possible if your working regular job, and then you get "well that's the best we can do...". Bull! Seems like anymore, we have allowed ourselves to except the shoddy as normal. If we want something right or correct, then we are being PICKY!
Looks like you should come out OK in the long run. Hold the money till they do what they promised. I like your decision to use steel framing. I don't like the use of PT wood setting on concrete. And if you sink PT in the ground, it WILL rot! Most around here consider a pole barn to be temporary structure. And maybe in our society it is, but my old barns are over 100yr old, and with a little upkeep should be around for at least another century. NOT temp structures IMHO!
Look forward to see what your doing inside.

Another update (without pictures)!!!!!!!.

Got my final inspection today. I can now legally occupy the sucker.

I promise pictures this weekend

Sigma, The steel is still not as I would like it. Also have a couple of roof leaks and some of the structural steel is not bolted tight. When they redid the upper steel skin they did additional damage to the surrounding areas and were not dilligent in refastening the new metal which has yeilded more issues. I sent them packing in October. Very tired of this quality of work. Did not know when I hired them that I was going to get the "just almost satisfactory" quality build.

Tarnished, Thanks for your insite into the quality issue. I owned and operated a construction and remodeling company from 1998 to 2008. I got so sick of the excuses and blank stares from these guys. they managed to screw-up and compromise every aspect of the construction, telling me "It's just a metal building".

By the way I just love your home place and the "warm fuzzy" it gives me when I look at your pictures.

I need to bump this since it is my build. I have been working in it for a couple of years and have done some updates. I will take pictures this weekend and publish them. I have my two post lift in. 16 six lamp T8s. 7.5 hp compressor. Currently installing a wood fired forced air furnace. The in floor heat was not going to work out for me at the present time.
