Awesome to hear from you Lamar! Yes the major update for this year is getting the renovation done on the little house and getting a new renter in there... I lost my job on dec 22nd but thankfully landed another job right away. Take care and thanks for following our adventures!

Oh, and I thought I said this a while back in this thread, but I just searched, and I didn't. Those plastic sawhorses are impressive for the money! I think I got mine at Harbor Freight. They store very easily, and cheap sawhorse is much better than no sawhorse at all.

Thanks guys, Shane loves it! I plan to do a much larger version of this at some point... Maybe in the shop once I get it built and enclosed fully. The only problem is that Shane drives the 4x4 trucks up the ramp but puts too much pressure on the connectors of the track. Looking into making some thin steel connectors they are longer and more sturdy. The other option is riveting the track right to the brackets, I tried that on one bracket and it holds well and the rivet in the Center of the track does not interfere with the cars. Work in progress!

We decided to postpone building the 32x26 carport project for a while and going to build a 12 foot wide by 28 foot deep covered area directly off the side of the little house.

Right off this side of the house is where the low budget lean to carport will be built. I would fully enclose it but then it would be tight to open doors etc. Plus if I follow the roof line I'm limited to 12 feet of space or it would come too low to the ground. I have to do a new roof on the house in spring anyway to adding to this slope shown here. 28 feet long and 12 feet wide for storing a car and some engines in the 8x16x8 cube added on the end for a total of 44 feet of storage space. That will help free up space in the larger shop once it's done. Will remove the top soil, add rock, compact, form it up and pour concrete with rebar here too. Baby steps.

I thought maybe an electric elevator and the gravity to provide the momentum from the roof down to the bottom. Maybe an adjustable ramp jump and foam pit To catch the cars?

Well another Chevy truck followed me home, the add said "old truck needs work, need gone take it for free".. 88 4x4 Chevy




Had to deliver this motorbike for a friend in -25 temps, was a real treat especially when one of the wheel bearings fell apart 100 miles from home... removed the wheel, strapped up that side of the axle and was fine with a light load... Simple bearing replacement the next day and all is well. Got a NICE set of axle straps that we used on this HEAVY bike and they are awesome! Perfect for vehicles or anything else that you need to keep safe on a trailer.

Since I have to re do the roof on the little house I thought I may as well just extend it down 14 feet on this side to make a nice 14 foot wide by 28 deep garage bay. Will use tin roofing on this area and likely the whole roof instead of shingles. Planning to enclose this garage but have large swing out doors to make it easier to do some work in... Once the big shop is built this can jsut be for storage of a vehicle.

FINALLY the alum heads are almost ready to ship out to the head porter... I am getting the very first set of Buick 350 aftermarket alum heads ever made EVER. Very exciting!

good plan on the carport-easy extra room is always good. what cr are you shooting for? will this be blown or have a turbo? it is looking nice. real candy!

Thanks Jim it's 9:1 compression and will be turbocharged.

Thanks I would make the carport larger except so de I'm extending down the roof from the house I can only go out so far before I run out of height (even if I go with a more shallow slope... This will be good and low cost for now and then we can build the planned shop ASAP...
