It looks a bit like a TH350, but I'm guessing it's something a bit more unique? :dunno:

Yes it's a TH 350 but it's a long tail version that came in the 2 wheel drive vans and trucks. They made these trans in 3 versions of length, and it often screws people up when swapping transmissions.

Does that mean I win a prize Sean?

To be honest, I really had no idea from just looking at the photo that you were referring to - it wasn't until I noticed the same blue-painted small block (the blue paint really threw me) in one of the previous pics where you're actually standing on the ****** in the back of the truck.

I've been caught a few times by different extension housing lengths (on a couple of GM autos and a Muncie).

Thanks, the name mostly refers to the relatively small garage I am working with. Once I get my nice big dream shop like yours built I will have to re name the thread I suppose.

Well guys I have been super busy... I sold the engines I picked up over the last few weeks.

I cleaned up the Rover and sold it.... Although the buyer was short on cash so he tossed in a super cool 1988 Chrysler Daytona with a turbocharged 2.2L engine and 5 speed, with leather interior.

And I bought an enclosed trailer 22.5 feet long, so I can store cars and haul them around in it. Found that for about half price barely used so I grabbed it. Pics to come next time I have a chance to take some.

And in case anyone is wondering what is in the back of my truck today....a rare alum 215 Buick block.

You've been busy wheeling and dealing, and it sounds like you've scored some pretty good deals out of all of it, congrats!

Lots of work since I last looked in. Guessing the Buick is on hold to some extent with that strange looking cold white stuff in all your photos! Love the custom crank, very nice, and the train set is looking great too.

I had a 215cu/in/ 200 hp/ T-10 4speed in my first car, a 1963 Buick Skylark. I think I told you before I polished the entire engine in metalshop in high school. Teacher thought I was crazy. Ran it to 7,000 constantly after a rebuild. I loved that car! but I wanted a Chevy and then my Malibu appeared....

Money in the bank when the right buyer comes along!

Well I have been up to my old tricks... Got some more Buick 350 engines for pretty much free:

My new enclosed trailer, dirty, but darn nice unit. That is my friends truck he loaned to me but it pulls well.

A friends Vette that just got painted:

Most of the snow melted it has been WARM:

I am thinking about tearing down the old barn and salvaging some materials... It is not going to be safe for much longer I think.

Like that trailer!!
Think twice about tearing down the old barn, looks like a good storage shed to me.
Those snow pictures give me chills!

Sorry no garage updates, but I'm busy!

Scored this old tow truck today! Not super pretty but heavy duty! Ford F-350 with 460, 5 speed overdrive manual, 4x4, 4.10 gears, 10 foot tilt flat deck, 25,000 pound PTO winch

Dang, nice tow truck! First an enclosed trailer, now a tow truck. Gotta ask what is mama having to say about these recent purchases? Oh and I think I ran across a picture of lil Shane Buick.....

Wow Sean, I've missed a few updates - while you've been busy updating your "portfolio of cool stuff" (engines, enclosed trailer, tow truck).

I think your gonna need a bigger shed.

Honestly I am living the dream. I work hard and buy stuff with cash. I work all day and scheme all night. Leanne is pretty darn supportive I am blessed. Thank you for your continued support even though I currently do not have a very large shop to work in. I'm crazy about short term pain for long term gain.

I have to say thanks to Roy and Mathew and Josh they are my biggest supporters as they are taking care of my second house and stuff.

Update on the "tow truck truck", it is now becoming a car hauler/ramp truck so I can haul my cars around on it.

The new deck will be total of 14.5 feet long, with flip down ramps and a beaver tale. The tilt will still work and the winch will be used to pull vehicles on. The towing mechanism will be used to support the underside of the deck where it overhang and there will be a pin to secure it when the deck is tilted flat and if I remove the pin it will allow the deck to tilt down to help loading if needed.

Sometimes it's just easier and quicker to have others do it if your happy with their work especially if they have those tools and experience. Your time is valuable so think of it as saving time and money verse spending it.

Hard hats do a lot more good if they are on your head. :) I like the look of it though, much fancier than the ones I use.

I thought the hard hat had blood spattered on it at first glance!

For your reference after our email, in the Aussie vernacular. :)

Tilt tray - tray moves back and down to enable car to drive on:

Banana back - Fixed tray, angle down at the rear, used with ramps:

Look forward to seeing your truck all sorted how you want it!

I decided to make some extra cash to pay for my ramp truck project without touching the bank account....

Step 1 buy a 1990 351 Windsor, trans, and transfer case for $200

Step 2 sell the engine for $500, and the rest for $400

Step 3 buy a Ford 460, some 350 chevs, and 5.3 Chevy engines, and sell em all!
