There was a 88 year old fellow who stopped by the house yesterday and introduced himself as the son of the man who built the house. He states it was just a one room house were the kitchen, livingroom and bedroom where all the house consisted of. So he said he was born literally in the house in 1929. Very cool!

Great work on the fixes and improvements Sean. Had a good chuckle at the fence! Sorry to hear of your neighbour dramas, but sounds like you have an excellent tennant.

Thanks, yes it is a standing Bar. It keeps the area open while adding a place to put anything from food, drinks to tools. He has 3 tall bar stools setup right now but we often stand and chat without the stools.

Thanks guys for watching my thread, stay tuned for my next project which is lowering the outdoor table about 6 inches and making it much thicker. As always I will take lots of pics!

Yes it will be stained or eurothaned but first I am adding some more layers to make it nice and thick and strong.

Instead of stain, what about setting drink coasters on the top and then coat with a clear polyurethane. That way the coasters will last forever!

I think it looks a bit like that since it is not fully level yet... Should sit flat once I add the thicker top and level it off. Will be 3 inches thick instead of the 3/4 inch it is now.

That fence is tall, and your boy is little. Now, I know I should stop thinking of ways to annoy the neighbors but two mirrors, 2 90 degree elbows, and some 3" PVC pipe, you could build a nice periscope that bolts to your side of the fence for the boy to peek at them with. Let if rotate so they know they're being watched.

Now, how big a wind chime can you mount in a tree closest to that line...

2" brass pipe in 24" lengths. About 7 of them hung from a 6" aluminum disc with a 1" lead ball. Show sound really good!!!

Keeping busy over here! Bought a brand new mini van for Leanne today (2017 Kia Sedona), then some yard work. Some flashing on the shed was a bit loose so we fixed that.






We even built a workbench together, his first outdoor workbench so thats cool. Used scrap wood from the bar at the other house.

Started a sandbox for the boys today... 2x4 stacked interlocking is plenty sturdy and topped off with 2x6... Next to remove the grass and dirt and add some pea gravel... Then a fold up lid.

I got all the uprights and the long wood needed for the carport as well as a woodshed I am building... Plus I got a bunch of "cull" or reject wood to build a 28x10 foot parking pad so that no grass and weeds are growing under the cube van/ car hauler. 4x4 wood and 2x8 all pressure treated and all for very low cost! I also found this lawnmower, works great just needs a turbo!

Still need to do the lid but got the sandbox done otherwise... Used larger pea gravel so the kids don't track sand into the house... Just rocks LOL!



Added a protective guard so I could tip the wheelbarrow into the sandox... Then took the boards off after.

Looks awesome! I'm sure you've thought of this, and I may see something on the fence to do just this, but make sure you have a way to secure those on the open position. Wouldn't want those coming down on top of the little man as he's playing out there!

I appreciate the concern, good call!

It's hard to see in the pics but yes there is a secure locking device. I made a small slot in one board on each side and there is a I bolt that attaches to the 2x6 at the top of the fence... The I bolt slides into the slot and then a carabeener clips on to keep it secure.
