Yes the rock was a part of a deal last year when I sold a trailer and the guy was short on cash. It’s far more rock than I need but I can sell some off after I’m done. There will be a fire pit, and some other features I will use the rock for.

Yes I wear them because they save my cloths from wear and I can easily take them off and go inside without tracking in dust and dirt.

Between the loft and the running gear shelf you have made some outstanding storage space in your garage. I assume you have plans for lighting the underside of the loft.

Thanks guys! Yes all of the lighting needs to be changed. I will be mounting 4 foot LEDs where each light bulb is. And yes I will add lighting under the loft..

So the 12x8 shed build is underway! Day one worked out well with a lot of progress! I had no friends around to help so the boys and Leanne helped. We had to use some smart thinking instead of pure muscle!

More progress on the 8x12 shed today. Man this this is big! Shingles tmrw. My make shift work platform was too low so I added a lift kit lol!!

Leanne stained the mantle. The mantle was custom built out of cedar by my father and I installed it before they crew added the stone.

Sean: while i'm a bit concerned about the footings for your new shed it looks like you are making great progress. did you put wood on the ground or is there cement or gravel we didn't see any pics of? only reason i'm asking is because your shed is about the size of my home (or so it seems) cause it looks huge.

At my current job I end up being able to take home extra materials almost each day! 3” angle iron 1/4” thick, and 1.5” angle 1/8” thick.

Shed just needs the doors and details.

No worries these are good points. I set the shed nice and high off the ground with these doubled up temporary Skids so that when we do the landscaping we can move the shed around, up or down to set it on some sort of final foundation. The ground was frozen and it was too late in the season to start doing the land grading. I wanted the shed set nice and high for now and I hope to get it set about 8” lower than it is but it all depends on the way the land grading works out.

SEAN: I knew you had a plan for the foundation of your shed and looking forward to seeing how you move it if you do.

I bet once you get it finished it will really open up much needed space inside your garage so you can work inside there while your winter cold months are keeping much activity from going on outside.

Hi, Sean. Just wondering why you doubled up the joists for your loft and spread them out st 24"centers(or whatever the metro equivalent is). Seems to me that spacing them out closer together (16" centers) would spread out the load carrying capacity and eliminate the need for another layer of plywood to carry more weight without sagging between the joists. JMO

Hi Ric, I simply had a whole bunch of 3/4” plywood already cut in 24” wide sections so I just did it that way. Yes I agree it would have been stronger the way you describe. Also the plywood should have been turned around the other way do the grain is pointing in perpendicular to the joists. That’s the strongest way. I will just add another layer of 3/4” plywood overtop when I rearrange things next.

The shed is almost done, getting ready to load it up.

Driving the tracker a lot!

The garage door is raised up 2 feet and now doesn’t push as far back into the bay when it’s up. Perfect added space for the lift. I need to build shims to level the lift. That’s my next move. I still need to replace all the light bulbs with proper lights.

I was planning to setup the lift this week but after a little fender bender my plans changed lol! It was my first accident, no other vehicles involved so it’s not the end of the world. But the hood, grill, bumper and lights added up to a $7500 quote at the body shop! With that quote the insurance company paid me $6000 And let me fix it myself.

$300 for a used white hood (I haven’t swapped it on yet)
$100 for a used grill
$250 for aftermarket headlights
$2000 for both front and rear 250 pound bumpers with LED lights, wiring and winch mount.

So $2650 and some time and I pocketed $3350. I still need to instal the winch, hook up the LED fog lights and put the rear bumper on.

I told the GF if she wants to move I need at least a 4 car garage as I want a street car too.

Now I would consider a 3 car with ceiling like yours as I need it for my off-road truck that’s on 42s. Just need a triple wide driveway that will accommodate 22’ minimum.

Well I need a ton of practice but I’m learning to weld! I have a mig and a tig but I’m starting with the arc welder. The hyd. Ram was worn out on one of my engine cranes so I got a new one but it needed mods to mount where the other one fit.

I welded two junk rims together, I’m mounting those big slicks on them for garage art. I’m using an inner tube because my weld are not air tight lol!!!
