Finishing off the interior of my barn, 30x40 14’ walls pretty standard. My question is a 28’ piece of steel manageable with a couple guys or 3... I would get a small scissor lift and maybe a guy on a ladder on each end or just order 14’x3” panels and have a small seam in the middle? Perlins are 3’ OC perpendicular to my trusses. Thank you!

Not enough info. Are you talking about placing the sheets horizontal on the walls? That would look sort of odd I think.
If on the ceiling, they could be handled with the help of a drywall jack. I used 21' pieces on my ceiling that way. Look in my build thread for pics.

Definitely do two panels. They have ones like this. Must be able to rent someplace. Two of these and a ladder make it a one man job. Curl it when moving it. Tape padding on lift to keep from scratching

Yes, there's an optional extension that you put on. Makes it go up to 16'. I made a rack that placed on top that held the sheet just great. Pics in my build thread. Along with the portable scaffold that I made, it worked sweet. I had friends helping me, but at the end there was like 5 sheets left and I wanted to get it done and I did those by myself. A piece of cake!

This my thought too. Just too much of a pain scheduling help. The 14s you can do your self so you can even do a few here and there in evening etc.
Some have extensions for extra height. Some guys here have bought a HF unit and made an extension for it.

I searched online for a lift with 15’ capability. It has a shorter mast for regular 8-12’ ceilings and a separate, taller mast to reach 15’, or maybe 16’. I don’t remember if I bought the lift as a package with two masts or if the taller mast was a separate option. I do know it was a separate box, since I kept the box for storage.
A drywall lift is a clunky thing to have around, but in addition to rocking a house and installing a metal ceiling, I have used it to ihang two suspended shop heaters.

Get 14s or 14'2" and over lap a bit. Be easier if you ever need to remove one in the future too.

They fold up into a pretty tight area.
I haven't had to worry about mine getting in the way for a while. Another member here borrowed mine 2 years ago and I don't think he's used it yet.

I did 16' panels with 3 guys (no lift) and wouldn't want to handle much larger.

Another reason for 14'-2" pieces is sometimes things aren't perfectly square or exact no after how it might look until [emoji33]! !

You are probably going to want more than 2" of overlap. I had mine installed and think there was about 12" of overlap. Two panels about 20' for a total of 39' (building is 40' outside with 6" walls). Main thing with overlap is to make sure both panels are over a truss so the ends of both are fastened down. I got mine from a local lumber supplier in custom lengths.

Metal building supply or some lumber yard should be able to get them in custom lengths. Get them ordered quick or wait 6 months or better, pricing is going up every week almost right now.
I’m in Howell, Livingston county. I’ve called a few lumber yards and they all seem to be right about 2.50$-3.50$ a sq ft. Guess I’ll just make the trip down to OH for that much of a price difference. I’ll try and get some pics tonight.
Keep in mind, Menard's rolls/stamps/cuts them at their Holiday City, Ohio plant. If you order through your local Menard's they will probably be delivered in 2-3 days.
You could also save some cash and pick them up at the plant yourself. I forget what the savings per ft is.
