Corvette Summer I like the new car and the 63 looks great.

Finally a few high winds encouraged me to build something more permanent. We took a cart full of lumber and in 4 hours had our roof framed. It is all out of pressure treated wood and should withstand the elements. Looking at either a peel and stick asphalt roofing or metal.
oh and the windshield

Will the water run off straight into your pond on that side. Looks like a nicely hidden BBQ and Drinking elfresco area more than storage nook.
Hey Mark, quick question on your corvette video from a total neophyte (I love garages but don't know cars at all... they have 4 wheels right?) : what is the red flashing thing your mate has in in the video? Thermometer?
Oh sure, now that the temps are about to cool down and the rain is subsiding, you finally decide to build a permanent shelter for your employees
Wow I had to dig this up from page 5! There has to be something going on in the shop worth an update!![]()
Hey Mark, great work on everything. Nothing beats looking at perfection and you my friend are building some. It must of been sad saying goodbye to the willys, i hope you don't wake up in the middle of the night crying in the corner like i would be. Lee
Today was the first time I was looking at the car as a completed project. I was going over the car pretty good and for the first time was looking at the car and actually admiring the work. We have been so focused on finding what was wrong i wasn't paying attention to what was right. It really has turned out better than I expected. As with any project there were a lot of things I learned and things I would do more efficiently the next time. Tomorrow I will upload a bunch of exterior shots. For now here is primarily the interior which we kept stock. I see Corvette out there with aftermarket gauges but quite honestly it is hard to beat the factory interior. We have kept this one completely stock on the inside………..however,check out the speaker box we made for the back. Its pretty nice! The cloth convertible top is just beautiful.
The 67 is looking fantastic! The 71... Not so much (for me). All the molding is making it look too massive and cartoonish. I'm hoping the finished product and/or the application of paint will tie it all together. In the meantime, if the owner is happy and keeps the money flowing, I guess that's all that matters.
A few comments on this project. As with most it did not start out to go this far. What was meant to happen was a suspension update and a front fender painted. 1100 hours later frame off, stripping paint down to the bare fiberglass, and the replacement of about every piece of interior and exterior piece of chrome. Addition of side pipes, custom built wheels, add A/C, lots of engine bling and a paint job of gloss black. A serious undertaking one might add. I think it has been quite an accomplishment for my first Corvette project.
I am looking forward to taking this bit of experience and turn my 63 into something special. In the meantime I am trying to get a C1 project into the shop. It has been started by someone else and is a very high end build. The owner wants to get this car back to the Sarasota area so I am keeping my fingers crossed we get it. I also have a few other surprises coming up for you guys

Wow, that looks fantastic. Nice work.
Mark, you've outdone yourself. This is the best c2 I've ever seen... simplistic elegance! Well done! JP
So if you are calling someone else work a "high end build" and you have done this car, and I haven't saw anywhere that you call it a "high end build", either you are selling yourself way way short, or there are no words made up yet for what you do beyond "high end".![]()
And as far as this 'Vette.......I would rank it beyond High End. :thumb up:![]()

Satin black? It's going to look like the Batmobile.

But, Mark Hamill doesn't like the "Darkside"!
Both Vette's are just Sick! You do beautiful work, Mark! :thumb up:
Unfortunately I won't be able to see any of this in person this Saturday. An old shipmate of mine is turning 30 and his party is Saturday evening. I simply can't miss it. I even have the C6 all polished up just for the occasion too.Have fun and take lots of pics!
