Mac and Matco used to be together and I heard one reason why for the split 34 years ago. There was an arguement between the Poole brothers,One owned the Mac side and the other owned the Matco side.I have one of their 1/2 impacts, the MT1769A which is a rebranded IR.Snap On is the only truck tool brand that makes their air tools.Matco has pliers that are rebranded Knipex pliers.Sockets,Matco's sockets don't break easily and Snap On's sockets do.Matco dealer whom comes in every Friday where I work asks if his customers in the Shelby/Hart and Ludington/Manistee,Mi areas if they have anything broken and the answer is no.Gets told lots of Snap On tools broken from them. Then there are Snap On dealers that don't consider anything broken, slipping ratchets are one.The dealer in the Big Rapids,Mi area is this way.Customer's employee went through this, had one that slipped resulting in busted knuckles.Owner told him to warranty it or not to come back, the dealer is a real ****.
