I got it 3/4 up, then tried to lower it... nothing. Now it won't go up OR down. Bled the rams....um...help?
A number of people have had issues with these - what I did was rock the lift arm carrier in the upright column to get it to loosen and come down....
Make sure the lift locks are engaged first, you don't want it to go all the way down on you. How high is it now? all the way or part way up? Is it the two position lift that uses pins, or the multi position lift that has automatic locks?
If this is one with the somewhat textured looking paint inside the uprights, once you get it down you need to sand or wirebrush all that texture off, then re-grease inside the columns. Once you do that it will work fine.
Danmar. Old style, with bars for safety locks. Is this the Dannmar version or the BendPak?
OK. It's not all the way up. It's 2/3, just above the second to the last hole. If I bleed the ram, it still won't drop but the ram itself will go slack.. meaning I can shake it back and forth. All Bendpack could say is it should drop. Same syptom both sides. I see no signs of rust in the block channels, but it has to be the blocks binding. I can(barely) get the arms to raise if I jack it up with another floor jack, under the center of the arms. I guess I'm paying someone 300.00(plus) to come have a look at it tomorrow...
Is there a car on it? if not id smack it a few times with a dead blow and see if something is binding. If yes, that is not going to be fun.
