Hi everyone. My wife and I finally closed on our house. Her major need was a pool, mine was a 3 car garage (We both won).

Now it's time to start the "Manrage" project. The idea is to "garage" two of our cars and incorporate the rest of the space as a "man cave" hence "Manrage"

Here are a couple of pics of what I'll be working with. I'll add more later.

Digging the B6. Very nice. Looks like you have a sweet VAG collection. Is that washer in there just for moving or is that its permanent home?

Congrats btw on the new home and not having to give up what you were looking for.

What are your plans for the new space?

Thanks! The former owner was kind enough to leave his old washer in the garage for us. I will be getting rid of that this week.

The plan is to start with cleaning the floor. Previous owner had three little dogs that lived in the garage (smells). Then fill all the holes in the walls and paint. Once that is done I'm going to put race deck flooring in.

My idea is to have two car portion for my S4 and the wife's Q5. The single car portion will be my lounge area (TV, bar, sofa etc).

I love the size of the garage but what I don't like is the lack of wall outlets. There are only two in the entire space.

I've already picked up some good ideas from this forum and I can't wait to get started!

How high is your ceiling? Looks like about 12 feet. Consider moving one of those sets of garage door tracks up flush to the ceiling and getting a jackshaft opener. Relatively cheap to pave the way for a future lift. Also, if you seriously only have two outlets in that huge space, get someone out there to drop at least a half dozen more. Might as well have him pop in a few more receptacles for more overhead lighting while he's there. It never ends...

Congrats on the new space, wish I had a 3 car.

Good ideas! I like the thought of a lift someday. I think the ceiling is at least 10 feet high. I've only measured the ceilings in the house which are 10 feet. There are six light fixtures in the garage with plenty of light. I will have to get more outlets put in for sure.

Nah man, those garage doors are 7' tall and according to your pics, you have a **** load of room above them. Go measure it. I'll eat my hat if you don't have at least 11'6" to work with. About those light fixtures, thumbs up for having 6 from the previous owner. Do yourself a favor, if they are not all 4' 4-bulb T-12 fixtures, upgrade NOW. It will save you from doing it later when all your cars and tools are in the way. With a garage that size, I would put up 6 8' T-12 fixtures. You can never have enough light.

I will measure and check the lights when I get back. The plan was to get all that taken care of before we move everything over to the new house. At least the basic stuff. Good tip about the lights, thank.

Haven't been on here lately due to moving. I was excited about it until I saw this.

It's gonna be a slow process but I do like how it looks from this angle

Don't let that pile hold you down. I was in the same spot in August when we moved into our place. Just attack it right away!

p.s. I used to have those same stools but in silver.

Nice space!

I read the title as Audi Man-Rage and figured this thread would be a rant about Audis... Was pleasantly surprised that it was a "build thread."

Looking forward to what you do with the place, I'm moving from my double to a triple in may and I'm looking for ideas.

The stools are cool unfortunately one broke during the first move. The pile is only going to get bigger tomorrow i'm afraid and most of what is in that pile is for the garage. MOVING is a pain!!!

I wanted to start pretty much fresh so I tossed all my old cabinets and work benches (They were falling apart anyway) so I have no storage for any of my tools and other gear at the moment. Still looking into new workspace and storage options.

Once we are fully moved in and boxes are discarded, I can start getting my hands dirty!

And since I have nothing new going on inside to show..... Here is another outside shot! Finally moved the wife's Q5 over to the house and wanted a family pic. :)

OK, looks like you have enough Audis, so you need to sell me your Avant now! :D

It's a great looking space and nice fleet you've got there. It will look great when finished, I'm sure.

Thanks but I just got the Avant this year. I've been wanting one for a long time...and you can never have enough Audis :pimpflash

I feel your pain on the pile. I recently just moved into my place and the garage is a mess right now. Finally getting to work on it though.

Also in the same situation as far as outlets go, only one on the wall and two on the ceiling. Not sure who thought that one out.

Nice space and nice Audi's. I see a red badge on the one, newer S5 wheels on the Avant and the copper slammed Q5.....friggen bad-***. More pictures please!

I know your pain of the moving mess and getting settled. Just went through it last June. Living out of boxes gets old but in time you'll be settled and be ready to get down on the new man cave area. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Haha, nice! I recognize those cars :)

Going out to JHM next month?

Moar pics!!

I almost forgot about JHM with the whole move thing even though I pass by them all the time in the Uhaul lol. Now that I'm a little closer to them, I will most likely go. Not sure how much room they will have with the new construction though.
More pics will follow....

The pile is only getting bigger and the wife put me in check and told me the house has to be fixed prior to me doing the garage. The outlets are an issue and I hate extension cords and loose wires. Had to deal with that at my rental. It will just take me a little time an money.

Never seen that color before on the Q5, looks great

Thanks Sunbimmer! It's my wife's Q5 and she wanted it to be noting like an average grocery getter.

We are almost done moving everything to the new place...almost. I didn't realize how much stuff we had.

As far as the cars go, very observant. I put my S4 wheels on the Avant. I was going to sell them but I threw them on and loved how they looked. That car was a project car we got in June but is now on the back burner

I'll throw some more pics up of the family in a few.

Wow the Q5 copper is a satin- That's a bold move. But way cool! The S4 looks mean too. I had the pleasure of an Audi experience for a few years. My previous daily driver was a 2008 S5. Loved that car...

The Avant is my daily and the Q5 was suppose to bed her daily until the mod bug bit her. She has a 99 Honda Civic as a daily.

The Q5 is a wrap or custom color?

Its a vinyl wrap and the color is called blaze orange matte metallic.

I run the carbon fiber Audi supercharged badges on the '67 RS....just in case you don't see or hear the supercharger.

Finally got everything out of the old house and into the new. Still a huge pile of stuff! Got the old tile out of my rental garage and got a little delivery today.

Not much to report I'm afraid but I did take time out of painting and unpacking to change out the old brass hardware and add a kick stand for the entry doors. Next is to seal up the doggy door.

Decided to take a break from the rest of the house and do something in the garage. I really wanted to paint first but I needed to make room to get two cars inside. My Racedeck tiles from my old place were taking up some room. I'll need to order more soon since the new garage is a little bigger.

Max: congrats on the house and a nice family of Audi cars to put in your new 3 car garage too. any pictures of pool since we don't have many up here in the PNW?

might i suggest maybe buying an 8 foot butcher block workbench with a metal frame and maybe putting some nice metal storage bins under it like i found or a couple old roller tool boxes so you can have a place to work in your garage. Gladiator sells these benches for about $600 and Costco used to sell the import versions for $200 so check craigs for deals or Sears had a sale on Gladiators recently that might still be going on.

since it also looks like your ceilings in your garage are at least 10 foot tall might i suggest buying some of these racks like they use at Home Depot and Costco. the one in the picture i posted is 12 foot tall, 8 foot wide and 2 foot deep and I've had 3000 pounds on each shelf with the little metal supports underneath 3/4 inch pressboard about every foot. they will get that garage of yours organized in no time so you can maybe start on the Manrage portion sooner.

keep up the nice work and the old race deck floor looks great in the new place.

cheers

I know it's been a while since I've been on here. I've been busy helping the wife and finishing other house stuff before I could go at it in the garage. Here is an update.

Finally had more outlets added. I went the cheap route and had outlets exposed rather than replace drywall.

Got to painting after the electrical was completed. Went with cobalt blue on the doors as an experiment... I think I like it!
