I wanted to share my solution with you guys. My Maxjax has been lifting uneven since install couple years ago, bled and bled with no change. Replaced the slow cylinder under warranty and still uneven. Replaced the fittings, same issue. Hose swap did not help so problem was with the cylinder itself. I was about to try Steve's solution, bought the parts locally from a hydraulic hose shop, then last minute decided to try putting the old slow cylinder on the fast side. Viola! problem fixed. Lifts even everytime within an inch or so. Thanks to Miguel at Danmar who suggested this. I guess my fast cylinder was the problem not the slow one. Anyhow hope this helps someone and thanks to Steve for sharing a perfect alternative solution.

I too am having chatter and uneven lifting.
Did you add this to the hydraulic fluid?

Thanks!

Yep. I had the same problem YEARS ago when I installed my maxjax.

I can't remember the ratio or how much I put in... I believe it was a 32oz container (they didn't have anything smaller) and I still have 3/4 of the fluid left...lol The fluid completely took chatter away.

I wanted to let you guys know how I solved my uneven lifting. My maxjax has had the uneven lifting since I got it. I have done several sessions of bleeding but never got it to be even. It was off as much as 2.5 inches. In the past I would stop at each level and let it down on the safety bars to get it more level as I went up but was a pain in the ***.

I installed a flow control valve today on the side that was lifting high. After I did that I did several sessions of bleeding then lifted it up and down adjusting the flow each time until I got them even. It now lifts within .25" of each other. I used a laser level to measure the height during the adjustment. Could not be happier. I used the flow control valve and 1 3/8 ******. The valve I used is:

I think the folks at dannmar have tested these for the uneven lifting. I can say it fixed mine and was the best $30 I have spent.

Steve

I separated my regular full height 2 post lift and mounted the center post on a trolley on the I-beam in the center of my shop and used 2 of those flow control valves. I replaced the power switch with a foot switch so I have both hands free, and I can adjust either valve as it's going up or down. mine doesn't have any kind of equalizing valve so I have to adjust for each vehicle I lift.

Where do you install the flow regulator? I'm still having uneven lifting after multiple bleeds, swapping hoses doesn't help. I'll try one if I know where to put iit.

Having serious issues with my new M-6 lift. First off, the shipment left out two required fittings but came with 3 extra hoses?? The wedge anchors are also junk. I finally got it installed and bled and we lift up my car for the first time and it wouldn’t come down... both arms were jammed. Finally after beating on it, it came unbound and lowered my car. We took the columns down and greased the absolute **** out of everything inside the columns where the pucks ride. Reinstalled and nothing. The passenger side would go down but the drivers side jams every time. The columns are dead vertical so I know that’s not the issue. Oh and it lifts uneven after we’ve bled it a million times. What a waste of $2.3k+ so far... calling Dannmar tomorrow hoping they send someone out.

Maybe the glide block(s) were damaged by running dry the first time. You can take them out and inspect them to see if any major scoring. If not lube them up and reassemble.

There can only be two reasons the lift sticks, hydraulic pressure not being released or blocks are binding.

I used an old brush to swab the entire in channel with grease. Messy job but it seems you have to cover the entire inside of the column to avoid binding.

Pretty sad considering this is the premier portable lift.

The Maxjax lift in the shop has been working fine since purchase, aside from an unequal lift issue. My custom install added an extension to the hydraulic hoses (one hydraulic hose runs under the floor in conduit to the far side post), and my shop is 1” out of level, so this did not help. Switching lines around and replacing the flow balancer did zero to help. Adding a flow control valve on the “faster side” did the trick and now the lift is dead even to the top.

As a plus, the shuddering issue when the lift was out of level is gone as well. This 3/8 NPT flow control valve along with a 3/8 NPT male to male ****** did the trick. It’s attached to the stock flow divider that is supposed to keep hydraulic flow exactly equal to the two lift cyclinders. Despite the flow divider, the flow limiter seems to be required to tune things up so the lift is even and both sides reach the max height at the same time.

The KC-03 "3/8 Hydraulic Tube Type One-way Throttle Valve" can be found on Amazon…specs below. it limits flow in one direction and does not seem to affect lowering at all. I had to dial in a fair bit of restriction (clockwise rotation) to get the lift to work more or less perfectly in sync.

I have the power unit wall mounted on the left and run an extended hydraulic hose to the right side post via conduit buried in the concrete.
