The product sheet for this maxlite light has a cable kit listed. I presume this is to hang the lighting. I have not been able to find this part no. anywhere online. Does anyone know how to get this or which kit would work? Or is this so basic that the electrician will know how to hang them?

This fixtures look like they're meant to be surface mounted. If you want to hang them, hardware stores sell a spool of jack chain and get whatever eyelet anchor to attach to your ceiling.

The maxlites can be hung, they have little tabs that can be bent out to hang them. I ordered a spool of jack chain, some mini caribiners for the top of the chain to adjust height and small "S" hooks to hook the chain to the fixture, all from amazon. It worked well and was fairly cost effective.

wstephens1249 - I thought they were for hanging too, until I started asking about their mystery cable kit that no one has ever seen. If possible, please post pics of your mounting.

The fixture in the OP's link is not the 2-tube fixture from the sticky. It may just be a single-tube version of the same fixture with the same tabs, but I can't tell. I also used the tabs to chain mount the 2-tube Maxlite fixtures in my garage.

cory58 - The Maxlite spec sheet picture is of the single lamp housing. The 2 lamp housing part number is there. To those who have successfully used these tabs for hanging, did you wire with RMC, FMC or romex? Any issues keeping the fixture level?

I wired mine with FMC. They are fairly level from end to end but the FMC makes them twist a little and not line up straight in a line. I could see where it would makes some people crazy but it doesn’t bother me.

Thank you wstephens1249. V hangers or Y cable could be used with the Maxlite housing - you just have to drill a couple holes. V Hangers are much cheaper. Here are some for $0.35 ea.
