This must be a lost socket from Chuck Norris's tool kit, he'd break any ratchet or breaker bar smaller then 1/2 drive.
May have found my most useless socket...

The best suggested use for this socket is for hex bits and a speed wrench. That was a good call.
I would never trust a 1/2 drive torque wrench down under 20 ft-lbs. Even if it was scaled that low.
This particular Socket may actually be more useful than the Gator socket. In any drive size. I actually acquired one that was in a used tool box I bought. I had to try it to see how it worked and it was pretty useless. Sometimes it caught the bolt head ok and other times it did not. But pretty unreliable and hence the most useless socket I have ever seen and actually tried. This thread has me thinking of another style of socket that is dubious. I won't go as far as saying useless ......but gimmicky. The Universal spline socket. I will make another post so that this thread does not get hijacked.

In 3/8"??? That's nuts, I didn't realize they went that low. Definitely would join the others in my "junk bin".

Snap-0n FSM61A 6mm six point shallow socket
Nearly every major tool manufacturer makes them. Very common.
I have yet to find a 8-24mm chrome set though...

My set was snap on impacts, bought them in the 90s. 8-24 with no 22or 23mm.

I used mine for the first time this summer. We have a travel trailer we keep on a spot in the summer and visit it 6 or 7 weekends...had to pull some trim to reseal one of the corners...held on with 1/4" head sheet metal screws. The only power driver I had with me was my 1/2" dewalt impact, and as it happened on my 1/2" socket rail there was a 1/4" 12pt socket. It looked stupid, but saved me a bunch of time in 100+ degree heat.
