MBL Adjustable Socket Wrench

I was finally able to score one of these at a reasonable price.

MBL. British made. It’s 1/2” drive and quite heavy. That’s about all I’ve got on this.

It’s been on my list since the first one I saw some years back. Kind of surprises me, there doesn’t seem to be much info floating around other than sold listings and such.

Anyway, I think it’s neat. A bit unique. Has a wheel, unlike the Bonney adjustable socket. Yet another cousin, an across the pond cousin, to the Pocket Socket. No idea who supplied these or when. I can only assume it has some age to it.

Nice snag, 3bay. So, a worm wheel and a worm screw. Akin to an adjustable crescent type wtench, but socket halves instead. I like it.

I had the same one, I also have a few adjustable USA made wrenches with the same "jaws", those ones were made as oil change wrenches for cars with square head oil drain plug bolts.

Makes sense. I’m familiar with the Blackhawk and Xcel adjustable wrenches with multiple size square jaws.

The xcel came in a couple sizes and had some hammer and bit attachments.
