MasterForce 12 Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Combo Kit

Comes with a drill/driver and an impact driver. $89 - $30 rebate = $59.

These are exactly the same as the Craftsman Nextec, just with Masterforce slapped on the side and a much longer warranty (3 years vs 1).

They also have 1 GALLON of the orange GOOP hand cleaner for only $6 this week. That is a deal. In my store, it is over by the industrial size cleaners, not on the general household cleaner rack, which did have smaller GOOP products on it. So y ou have to look for it. Only had 2 glues left at my store, but I grabbed those today. Those hand pruners I mentioned for $0.99 after rebate are 10" not 12", error there, but good for the price. - Paul

Quaker State Full Synthetic with a nice rebate right now. $5/qt + tax - $2/qt rebate limit 18qt (3 cases). Picked up some 0w20. They had a nice selection of the common weights though.

Quite a few?

Head over to the contractor desk and see about setting up an account and getting a quote. Mention you can use the Lowes 10% mover coupon at Lowes, plus ebates and 5% cash back on your card. You can usually beat 11%.

This is interesting to me as these are all made by Ryobi. I have lots of the Ryobi 18v cordless line but never got into the 12v line. I didn't know Menards sold any Ryobi stuff so now I do! It would be nice if they also would sell the 18v lineup or compatible cordless tools to use the batteries! - Paul

I don't believe any are "made by Ryobi", though they may have the same OEM.

Here's my Bosch band saw versus my friends MasterForce:

Ha, well that one is clearly made by Bosch! I was taling about the Nextec 12v. Ryobi makes the Craftsman 12v and 18v C3.\

Are the rest of the MasterForce 18/20v lineup also made by Bosch? Someone once said they were Makita rebadged. Or are they a little bit of many things? Would be good to know. If I didn't have the Ryobi lineup in 18v, I would have seriously considered the MasterForce lineup instead. I've also been known to change one manufacturer's line to use another's batteries though, with an adapter setup, so I'm always curious as to what is what for future reference!

I got a 2000ish Milwaukee 18v cordless drill with like 400 ft lbs of torque at a garage sale a while back for all of $2. No battery though, which I need to fashion an adaptor for it to use my Ryobi batteries in it! It will be a fun little project when I have time, maybe next winter. I do have a Black and Decker converter pack I made so I can use any of their 18v lineup with my Ryobi batteries now! Works great! - Paul

Ryobi isn't really a company, so it doesn't really make anything. Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee are all just parts of the power tool division of Techtonic Industries, Inc.

Masterforce is like Craftsman in that various power tool manufacturers make theirs. Some is TTI, some is Black and Decker, some is Bosch, some is Chervon.

TTI doesn't make the Nextec line or the 12v Masterforce. It's made by Chervon. They won an award for it, listed on their website: http://www.chervon.com.cn/en/about.php?about=1&m=2

Thanks Mono. I know about TTI. Ryobi used to be its own company, and was once a US company, but that was some time back. TTI makes the Craftsman C3 18 v line. Just as the Ryobi line and they are nearly identical tools. Perhaps I'm mistaken on the Nextec 12v line then. Chervon huh? I'll have to read up on them. - Paul

I've spent a bunch of money in last few months at menards on building materials...and had looked into the contractor account...but didn't look like much benefit..? Was told you got 2% back at end of year..(which I get anyways with menards card)..and there's discounted material delivery (which I don't need ).. And you get assigned an individual rep to help with purchases and quotes. But no real discounts from what I can tell. Anybody else have different experience ?

It's negotiation, if you can't negotiate, you're going to pay full price of course. Use competitor sales/discounts/etc. as a starting line, as well as Menards sales. Use it for big purchases where its worthwhile. Register all your cards you use so all your purchases credit to your contractor account and not just the big ones you get quotes on.

Bingo.

I believe that Chervon is actually the OEM of some of the Bosch tools as well, i.e. the ones shared between Masterforce and Bosch.

Went back over there yesterday and got 10 more of the free after rebate Titebond glue bottles! Woo Hoo! I'll give some of these to my dad and keep the rest for projects. What a great deal.

I don't need it but they have the Masterforce made in USA combo socket/rachet set for $39 again after rebate. That is just a great deal for a shallow and deep USA made SAE and Metric basic set. Can't be beat really. They also had made in USA Masterforce screwdrivers all on sale, I think Pratt Reed makes all those. - Paul

Tried to get them to match the lowes 10% mover coupon on shingles and they gave me some BS about how lowes had to have exact same items

I agree that the bolt cutters are nice for the money:lol_hitti. I looked at 3 or 4 before I found one that the cutters closed with no gap, though. So just be sure to check before you leave.

Yes, my first one was really tight too and hard to open/close. As with all China COO merchandise, check, then recheck, then ask your spouse for their opinion on the purchase first. Then move forward. Free is hard to question too much though! I was sure to make sure no gap on the cutters on mine too. They were tight. Not bad at all here! Be sure to ask if there are any left at your store. Mine had them in two places and one was out, but the other spot had a bunch.

Something else about Menards I like a bunch - on their freebies, they usually have a decent stock up front, and if they run out, they will actually try to get more in in a few days while the sale is still on. My store did this with the glue deal. Got more in in a few days and put them out. How many stores today will restock the free door busters for their customers?? Doot Doot da da Doot da da (Menards theme song plays...) - Paul

Like everyone didn't already know, but a reminder the 11% MIR will start Sunday.

Thanks, if Menards people are listening, don't you guys see that everyone has used up all their gift cards from January when we could get the 11% off on gift cards then? We need you to let us buy more gift cards again with the 11% off! It is needed at least twice a year! Don't strand your loyal customers like this! I'm out of gift card credits! Help! I am a semi-loyal customer! Meaning, as long as there are great deals, I'm a customer! - Paul

Anybody know if the bag sale is coming up in a couple of weeks? Seems like it was about this time last year the 11% and the bag sale overlapped for a day; I bought a fair amount of wire for my shop that day. I'm holding off on some purchases to see if that happens. Gotta play the game....

blaaah

boring...

I agree that it's not as fun as the FWR stuff but don't knock the 11% rebate, I use it to stock up on stuff that otherwise never goes on sale. For example, yesterday I picked up a bunch of cans of Seafoam (I go through a ton of this stuff and with the rebate Menards' price is only 60% of what other places charge locally), some tubes of grease, some hardware, some rebar, and some lengths of Unistrut. Having said that I'm itching for a free pizza cutter or some more jugs of deck wash next week, I'm addicted to free stuff even if I don't really need it. :)

By the way, anybody ever notice that Menards carries roll up doors? Not the conventional panel-type garage doors but the kind that roll on to a drum? I'd never seen these in the garage door section before yesterday. I have a roll up door on my shop and like it quite a bit. I've been thinking about using one to replace the man door on a small storage building I have since I lose a lot of storage space because the current door swings in. A roll up door would fix this but the shipping is usually prohibitive. Now that I can get one from Menards for around $250 with free ship-to-store I'll probably pull the trigger.

Nick, that sounds like a neato idea on the roll up door. Never thought about such a thing. A picture later on of what you end up doing would be nice to see! Like you, I get the stuff that never goes on sale with the 11% deal and load up on that. I like it once in a while, just wish I had more gift card credits to use with it. If Menards does the gift card next year, I'll put a little more on it next year. - Paul

I picked up a handheld sprayer for $5 to use for wetsanding.

http://www.menards.com/main/p-2243166-c-10116.htm

Says it's not in stock as it's a seasonal item, but my store had a bunch.

Noticed in current sale, they have Chapin 2 gallon sprayers for less than $10. That is quite a good deal. I love the Chapin sprayers. I will be getting one of those. Some other good deals in there too, depending what you may need. What are other people buying this week? - Paul

I picked up the 2 gallon sprayer as well as ants and weeds are crazy this year. It works really well so far, much better than one I got from HD.
