I also bought a set of these, but was not sure it was really a deal to mention here. I used the 15% off bag too. These were also at $50 at least once during the holiday season.

I already have a 10 piece Gearwrench set, but this has larger sizes I can really use. I am trying to build up separate sets of my main hand tools so I have a set at home and another set to take with me when I need to.

Saw a two pack of vise grips on clearance at my store today. $12.99 I think.

I bought those with my 15% bag. They were Irwin. I also picked up the 20 pc Gearwrench and cord reel. Thanks to the poster on the cord reels. I would've missed those.

For those needing it, they have a deal on chainsaw bib/chaps this week. Not too bad. I like the fuller coverage of them than just chaps on the legs, for $60. Made in China though. Anyone using a chainsaw should always have chaps for protection and a face/head shield too. - Paul

Just ordered a prefinished Mastercraft slab door this evening and it's 15% off until 1-11-15. So you may want to check on the doors you're interested in now. Looks like some are on sale and some are not.

That's what I'm doing. The ones on a great sale I'll get by Sunday regardless.. The ones that I make more off 11% I'll wait. Hopefully the 11% is on sunday

I've noticed the current ads seem to end on a Saturday, which sometimes indicates an 11% sale.
I was really hoping this bag sale would line up with the 11% plus gift cards again this year for a day. Oh well...

Almost every style of pre-hung interior door is on sale at Menards this week between the two ads. Some of them are discounted a lot more than others. I will be buying two or three Duracore doors before the sale ends.

I doubt we'll see an 11% sale before the 18th at earliest. The current ads end on the 17th. Menards seems to make sure that all other sales end before the 11% sale starts. Back in 2013 they still had ads overlapping on the 1st Sunday of the 11% sale. I got a killer deal on some sheets of FRP in 2013 because they were on sale and I got the 11% off by buying on the day the two sales overlapped.

Your mileage will vary, even in the same store.

Probably won't offer you a huge deal, since they display the boxes they'd have to replace the busted up one with a brand new one.

anybody know when windows will be on sale? ive got some windows to replace!

How many windows?

The Jeld-wen sales usually run 15-20%. If you can justify it, open a contractor account and just say you'd like the best sale price.

I got that vice a while back for the same price but without the 15% bag deal. Let me know how you end up liking it! I've not set mine up yet! - Paul

Got it mounted today to my workbench. I like it a lot. Sure came in handy today when I made a new scraper bar for my snowblower.

I'd be very surprised if I ever break anything on it. I'm sure the super heavy duty users will be disappointed with it though.

I have a list of goodies I want to pickup, but I was hoping I get my rebate check from the black friday rebates. Anybody get their rebate check from that period yet?

This is an ABSURD deal on an extension cord:

http://www.menards.com/main/p-2387358-c-12389.htm

These are nice cords. I own a few and I don't think any were less than $35. I'd recommend picking them up now because these will disappear fast at that price. Note they're 12/3, which is plenty heavy duty for almost any application.

That is a good deal. I got a 100' 12/3 last year for about twice that though at Menards, around $35 or so. The crazy days sale has a few interesting things, free high tooth circular saw Hitatchi blade, $100 tall steel storage cabinet (may be great for garages needing some), and $3.99 Canola Oil! Yum, I usually cook with Canola! - Paul

Also, worth mentioning on the above 50' 12/3 cord, if your store is out of these, this is a deal that is probably good enough to just buy online and ship to home or store. It isn't a clearance item, just a massive sale, so you can order it online too. Menards charges $1.40 per order to pull items for you or have shipped to store. So if you got 2 or 3 or whatever of them, total extra cost is only $1.40 vs. getting them off the shelves yourself (if in stock). Still a great deal for those wanting one to just buy online for this item. By the way Menards, please GET RID OF this silly stocking charge to buy online! No body else in the modern era (post 80's) does this sort of thing any more! Grow up! Compete better with Lowes, HD, Amazon, Sears, etc!

Also: 12/3 100 ft is $36 and 14/3 25 ft are only $4.49! Those are great deals too. Nobody at GJ should EVER be using a 16/3 cord for anything unless you are using dinky 2 amp or less tools! - Paul

Thanks for the heads up on the cords. Unfortunately by 9:45 am all of the 12 gauge of any size were gone. I have plenty of the other sizes. Pretty much all the blue cords are on sale. I'll see about the ship to store.

Did they actually check for you ?

I was at the Champaign store yesterday for the 25' 16 gauge cords and there were none on the shelf. Had them check and he found more.

I did not. Their online inventory shows up at 2 left. I went ahead and put in an order. The Champaign store was the one.

what is the quality of these extension cords? i bought one years ago from menards and the outer jacket was so thin you could see the profiles of the individual wires inside. This is a great price and i am thinking about picking up a couple but if the outer jacket is super thin, i will stick to estate sale extension cords.

You may have to check in-store, but I'd say these are medium thickness. You can see the cord wrap inside but just slightly, not much. I think they are a great deal. They are full outdoor weather rated and have a light too to show when "on". I got a few of the 25' 14/3 this time.

Oh, even better on these extension cords, made in good old US of A too! What a deal! - Paul

They are labeled medium duty. The yellow and red ones are the heavy duty ones where the jacket is molded to the wires and not just a sleeve.

They're fairly high quality. I have multiples of both the yellow and blue cords and they wear about the same. If you have a problem with an extension, it's usually the casing on the plugs separating from the wire jacket on the ends. I abuse my cords on jobsites daily, and the blue cords have had no issues to this point. They've been fairly pliable lately, and that's laying outside all day in zero degree weather.

Regardless, a 12/3 cord for this price is craaaazy low. I'm not sure you could buy the raw copper for that price.

Make sure you make a copy before you send them in. I have had to resubmit them and I know I'm not alone in that.

Thanks for the link, but now i'm concerned. I am expecting over $500, and can't find a matching submission online.

Sometimes it takes a number of weeks for rebates to show up after being mailed. I was in a similar situation with a $165 Menards rebate in November. I was really nervous when it hadn't showed up on the website after like two or three weeks, but it did eventually show up on the website and I got the rebate check.

I will be copying my submission information for future rebates after that one.
