Picked up the Porter Cable jobsite radio for $20 after rebate, solid deal.

I went into the Champaign IL store because online said they had 2. I talked to a guy I know there. They have been out and I wasn't the first looking. Seems funny that it's always 2. This has happened about 6 times in the last couple of months. Never had that problem before. I think they have a new employee stashing stuff.

Funny you should say that, I went to my local store and it said they had 1. I accept inventories can be off by 1 or 2, so I called off the search.

Ended up going to lighting to try and find a fixture, and saw one on the shelf. An associate came over and I asked him why it was there. He laughed and said it was his, and I, annoyingly, said that's where it is. I questioned whether he had purchased it or not and he said he hadn't.

Menards systems are archaic, I worked there for over 7 years through college and a bit after graduating.

Also picked up a MADE IN USA flannel shirt for $9 with $6 rebate.

I do too. I like how they give you the option and make it easy to identify. And really most of the time its pretty close in pricing. I don't mind spending a few bucks more for a comparable product made here.

Me too. Despite my inherent bargain finding abilities (wife just says I'm cheap!), I don't mind at all a few more bucks for the US version of things, usually quality is much better US too! I was shocked the nice extension cords are US for this sale price. What a deal. Crazy even! - Paul

I some times grab my Menards cap instead of my Green Bay Packers cap, or vis-versa. I am fans of them both. I do use HF, HD, FF, and TS, as well as the local Ace, or TV, Just that Menards seems to be the first thought, and the only part of the local shopping papers I look at. They don't have DeWalt so I have to go else where some times. They are my first choice in plywood, pine and construction lumber, but for hardwood lumber I use a local place called Shawano Wood Products. I use a lot of soft maple (relative) and it is almost 1/2 the price.

Slightly off the topic of hot deals, but why would Menards say they will ship my item to the store when they have 56 of them in stock? I decided to order an item in the crazy days sale online rather than go there today.

Picking orders out of store stock is difficult for fast moving products. Someone can go buy them all before the store employee can grab your item. Either that or the last 10 of something are in someone's cart but still show as inventory in the store because they have not made it through checkout yet. For a Crazydays item they probably make the inventory unavailable to fulfill online orders from store stock so they don't run into these problems.

It wasn't a mistake, as I recall they even extended it a couple times. After all was said and done my local store looked like it had been pillaged, there was nothing left on the shelves. Based on the sheer volume of stuff they must have moved I'd say they made their money and they cleared out a lot of old stock to boot. I'm anxiously awaiting the next one...

I would not be surprised to see 11% tomorrow based on all current ads expiring today. I bet the gift card thing is not something they will repeat again soon.

I need to get over to Menards to get a couple of doors that are on sale. They are more than 30% off with no rebate required so it makes sense to get them today.

This a great deal EXCEPT it is not the 1/4" shank that fits my dewalt. Dang it! Now I have three I need to return. I thought at the store that the shank looked big in the plastic and it says right on the package that it fits all cordless drills. Well it will fit my cordless drill but not my dewalt impact.

Turn around and go back into the store? Why so much trouble. Just Load up your cart, get up to the register and have 2 transactions for the cashier. One the gift card on the peg board next to her, 2nd my cart full of stuff using the gift card..

You can ask for an 11% adjustment paper. I do all the time. Your receipts from the previous 2 weeks count as long as it wasn't on sale or clearance. If they were, I would call and ***** at a manager. My buddy bought a kit for a garage for almost 20 grand on sale, the day before 11% sale. He bitched to them and they made it right.

HD will match Menards with an instant 11% gift card, so it's even better than Menards deal. Note this applies only to HD's near Menards stores, not nation-wide.

But, better yet, you can use the Lowes 10% coupons at HD all year long even on sale prices, and the Lowes 10% coupons at Menards all year on regularly priced items.

Are they giving you a gift card right way, or do you have to send in a Rebate form like Menards? The Home Depots around here now do the rebate form thing. Now, I just go to Menards during the 11% unless there is something only Home Depot carries. I used to choose Home Depot first during the 11% since they gave the gift card on the spot and just gave you 11% off as a discount if the 11% was under like $5.

Check the rebate form to see when the 11% ends. The forms are generally valid for two weeks if they plan to run the sale for two weeks. I don't know what the rebate number is to find the form online.

Menards had been running the 11% sale for two weeks in a row every time until the last 11% sale when it was only one week. Last year when they did the gift card 11% sale they ran the 11% sale for three weeks in a row, but the gift card thing was only for one or two of the three weeks.
