I keep looking at a brad nailer on clearance for 49.99 but not sure if I can justify the use out of it compared to a tool shop (which is ****)

Performax 25-pack of 2" bits are $3.99. #2 Philips, T25 (my favorite) and #2 square.

The 15-pack of 2" are $7.99, the 5-pack are $4.99... so this is a pretty darn good deal. They're decent quality bits.

My HF 18 gauge nailer has been great. Put about 3000 LF of quarter round in with it (on baseboard ) the past two weekends. Not one jam.

Those are the Alligator type. I like Knipex after trying them, but they are just terribly expensive to start with. I like them 50% off or more, not 10%. :willy_nil

What I think are the best things in Knipex are the Cobra pliers and the Pliers Wrenches. Other stuff is fine in other brands much less, like Channellock or Klein on sale. For that matter, I like the cheap Irwin or Masterforce knockoffs of the Cobras, but for professional use, the Cobra heat treatment is much better than the knockoffs. The Pliers wrenches are unique and neat tools, just terribly expensive. I got a 10" pliers wrench last fall when Sears had some great points deals for about all of $20. It is worth that easily! My "Cobras" are the Sears Craftsman rebrands of the real Knipex ones in the two pack, as well as the Irwin clones. I like them both fine. The Sears deal is the best way to get those Cobras for lowest cost with points. - Paul
Yea i ended up with some 7 and1/4? Cobras from menards a while back. They dun good [emoji106]

About the only Knipex I would still like to get sometime is the smaller size 7 1/4 Pliers Wrench. The big one is unique enough that I like it and want a smaller one. But like $50 normal price! I'd buy the 7 1/4 at $20, but not $50. Have to wait for a good deal on one! - Paul

New sale ad is out. Eklind hex sae + metric L sets both for $11.49. These are same as Snap On, rebadged from Eklind, made in USA. Also nice deal on 2 piece Channellock linesman and 10" channellock for $26.99, USA. Vice Mate vice extension for $4.99 adds 4". Free paintbrush and free plastic locking containers for nuts/bolts. - Paul

Has anybody bought the Masterforce folding steel sawhorses? These are on sale after rebate this week at $14.99 each. Look pretty robust. Would like a review. I'm sure made in China coo. I have liked most of the MasterForce designs on tools, mostly well thought out designs. - Paul

I took a look at these back when they were toughbuilt and again now since they're on sale. I can't get over how sharp the metal edges on the legs are. I nearly cut my fingers trying to open one in the store. I then tried to close the legs back up and fold it up but it wouldn't go back easy at all. I passed.

FWIW I have a set of these from Lowes. http://www.lowes.com/pd_514691-5909...orse&pl=1&currentURL=?Ntt=sawhorse&facetInfo=

Picked up a 5 piece Wilde punch/chisels set for $7.50, half off and a great deal. Also picked up an SAE and metric hex key set by Eklind- $1.99 for BOTH! Would make a good compliment to the bigger set of round end ones still on sale.

That's a great price... I just bought the center punch but I'm going to go back and trade it for the 5-piece set for a little more.

I have a few of those Eklind hex keys... they used to be free after rebate. Not a bad price but IMO those smaller hex key sets are really lacking in the sizes I run into.

Looks like they are dumping everything vice grips, got some more 11 S clamps for 17 bucks, not a blazing deal but about 6 bucks off.

I noticed that too, looks like they are switching to the CH Hanson automatic adjust pliers and clamps. At first I was disappointed but the Hanson pliers look nicer than recent Vise Grips and they're made in Taiwan instead of China.

Agreed, but at what I consider garage sale prices ($1 set) I couldn't resist!

Menards is doing some upgrading for sure. The clamps they cleared out gave way to Pony and Jorgensen. Nice selection, still made overseas but good quality for a somewhat fair price... as clamps go. Much nicer than the El Cheapo Bessey's at HD. (Not to be confused with the quality Bessey's at HD, the welding clamps are a work of art!)

Take it or leave it.
I personally don't mind it, I have had $1,000+ in rebates there over the last 5 years. As a homeowner, and a GARAGE owner I will never be done going to Menards.

I love the rebates. Buy normal needed stuff with my money and get to buy toys and fun project materials for myself with rebate money. Wife doesn't know about rebates I send in otherwise we would be buying mirrors faucets and other **** we don't need.

I get quite a bit back from stuff I buy for work with my work CC so that works out even better. Company policy is you get to keep any rewards points/rebates ect from specific vendors (airline rewards, hotel and rental car points, menards rebates ect). Just had to buy the guys a new generator during the last 11% sale.

Although sometimes I do wish it was just a reg check cause I need some things they don't sell at menards

Yeah the rebates are great, I've received a couple of thousand dollars back in the 3 or 4 years since they built my local Menards and I've never had an issue with getting my rebate in a timely fashion. Menards does a great job managing this but you do have to fulfill your end of the bargain and at least mail the things in on time.

Those $.88 Skil ratcheting pliers aren't worth it though in my opinion, they are pretty absurd looking, probably even worse than the Skil ratcheting adjustable wrench that Menards had for free in November. I bought two of those and they don't really ratchet and definitely don't wrench. They will chew up fasteners nicely though.

Hey guys, made it to Menards today. The hammers are real good for $2. Be sure to get one fast. Not even marked on sale in my store. The Masterforce drywall tools are also all on sale. These are still made in USA! Stainless steel tools at good prices! If you need any, get them now on this sale! Hard to even find US made drywall tools anymore!

Those Skil pliers are terrible, but great for holding a pipe with them as a pipe wrench. Don't try to use the racheting action on any nut or bolt though.

Mentioned before, but those free 4" paint brushes are a good deal too if you need any big brushes. Can't beat free after rebate. Also, for anyone needing to do any asphalt driveway repairs, they have a pretty good deal on 50 pound bags of asphalt. Less than $7 a bag. Also the free furniture polish and the free duster kits for the spouse. :)

Good weekend to go in as several sales still running at once. - Paul
