Do you have a scan of it, or know where to find one online? Was planning on buying Crestone retaining wall block and deciding whether to get it at 11% off or if it will be on sale for cheaper in the next ad.

Why not buy now and pricematch if possible later? I think you get 14 days.

I wish there was a Menards closer to my home. Does anyone know if they have any plans to move into the northeast, specifically western New York? My nearest store is 6 hours away

Last I knew they were staying in the Midwest due to the mountains and their distribution centers.

I noticed those Masterforce made in usa same mfr as old Craftsman USA shovels with the fiberglass shafts are on sale, I think $17 each. Not bad for those as quality is very very good. If you need a shovel, check them out. Some nice freebies in the new ad too. - Paul

I had to buy a Masterforce one as Sears switched suppliers before I was able to get one in each style from them. The green doesn't match my red, but they are all good quality. That's about the cheapest they go.

The Masterforce shovels are not Made in USA, are they? The shovel quality is fine, but the bow rakes are junk... the steel is so soft you can bend the rake part just raking gravel/dirt/etc. I have two to take back. Let us know how the return goes. I like razorback shovels from home depot. And of course fiskars is always good too. But a lifetime warranty on Masterforce too could make quality a moot point.

I know they bought land here near me. West side of Cleveland. They bought a closed down super Kmart. They tore it down a few months ago but have not done anything since. Was hoping to have one near me by winter 2016 which was the rumored plan but that doesn't look possible now. Actually it was supposed to be summer 2016. Land was purchased in 2014. Looks like all new store builds are being delayed because of tax penalties from the Obama administration according to a Menard's spokesperson.

we had a store that was supposed to go up on one side of town a few years ago, last minute they switched plans to the town connected to ours. built it, but they still own the land across the county with no plans on building one there. i figure they are just waiting for the value to rise so they don't lose as much on the land before they sell. maybe something like that going on in your area?

Menards will say made in USA on their website typically if something is.

I believe relatively recently they switched the Masterforce shovels and rakes from USA made to China. Stopped and picked up some shovels today. The racks were mixed between USA and China ones. The USA ones have "USA" embossed where the shovel meets the handle. The new China ones have "PRO" in place of the "USA" embossing.

Yeah. I'm 99% sure they're Morse.

SDS bits are probably TruCut Galaxy. They're in Illinois.

More bad news here... The old USA Masterforce hole saws are over in the clearance section and in their normal place is a new rack with new Made in China Masterforce hole saws and display rack.

And so it begins... I don't need any hole saws, have a nice Lenox set, but I'm gonna go get some.

I hope this is isn't a sign of things to come...

Bought a set and some other stuff while I was in Ohio for business last week. Like Menard's better than Lowes and Home Depot. Found the selection and quality of lumber selection much better than the other two.

one man owns Menards, we he builds a new location they buy all the outlots so they can control who moves in near them, Menards also owns alot of the companies that make things for them,

I read somewhere i few years back that the lumber at lowes is actually a menards owned company. Do not know if this is the truth still or ever was but had heard and read from several different sources

I bought a Yard Works spading fork at Menards the other day. It was the only spading fork they had. It was at least made in Mexico instead of China. I tried Craigslist first and also checked Homedepot.com. It was unclear if the ones at HD were made in USA or not for $10 more.

I noticed in one of the current ads, you can get the Vaughan made in USA mini-prybar for only $1 after rebate. These are the little 6" ones. Very handy for lots of prying purposes and recommended for each homeowner. Best value around for this tool.

They had a number of other freebies after rebate, like driveway cleaner/degreaser, asphalt tubes for the driveway, and foam 3" rollers for paint. I did check the yard tools and yes, not a USA one to be found anymore. Shame on Menards for this. They could have been the best replacement for the old US Craftsman yard tools but instead are just one of the many foreign suppliers now. Ollies if you have one carries US made Ames which I can recommend there. - Paul

Menards has the 11% with ad this week. Dry wall screws pretty good price, ad only shows 1lb box, but 5lb, 8lb, etc (all sizes) are on sale. A few bucks off on-sale, plus the 11% rebate.

Noticed one deal in the recent sales. For anyone needing a pass through socket set, they have the Bostitch set for $45 after all the rebates and sale:

http://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...0081027249-c-9159.htm?tid=3402078812351562008

This doesn't look too bad and it Taiwan made by Apex group, just like Gearwrench, but that may be China now. It has a bunch of the adaptors you need and 3/8 and 1/2 sizes. Not bad. - Paul

Paul,

This Bostitch set is made by Stanley Black & Decker (not the Apex Group). Here is the link to the product page for the 65 pc set Bostitch set on their offical site: LINK. At the bottom left of the page, you should see Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.

This set is not compatible with the Gearwrench Vortex socket sets per GJ member's "retDac" past post (see post #2, section B3) here: LINK.

I purchased this set late last year on clearance from Walmart for $40.00. My set was made in Taiwan.

Ah, thanks for the correction Dede, my brain transposed Apex with Stanley. Still, I view Apex or Stanley as about interchangeable myself and consider this a pretty good deal. Good to clarify not compabile with Gearwrench, but it is compatible with many others. You would pretty much be buying the 1/2" set here and getting the 3/8" set with it for free. Pick up a 1/4" set somewhere else and good to go. - Paul

Is Menards just going to be running the 11% rebates forever now? This is now week three for the rebates. They often put stuff on sale for much more than 11% off when they run their regular sales. I know some stuff rarely goes on sale so the 11% can be a good deal for those items.
