This. I refuse to online order anything from Menards.

I have ordered for store pickup without the fee. However, it was building materials. It was actually quite nice to just drive through the gate and pickup my lumber without having to go all the way into the store and back out again.

Mine was also building materials and those are handled the same wether online or in store. I wonder if they are charging for the labor of "picking" the items. Still, no other stores do this that I know of.

But they did charge me just a little, but no where near $7.

The Newage Pro 3.0 cabinets look to be on sale until about Feb 28th. On what I was looking at it was roughly 15% off. My question is, if they run a 11% off sale in the nest few weeks, can I combine that with the current sale price?

Most ads (sales price items) come to an before the 11% rebate, so its us unlikely there will be at 11% off before Feb 28. Occasionally they have sale items in the 11% rebate ad

Next week's big sale only lasts a week and ends on Saturday, so I'd say the week beginning the 12th will be 11% off.

I've done that exact same thing, only with mulch. Mine was more than $1.05 though. What it does stop me from doing is buying anything I don't NEED. Clearance stuff, sales I would miss, stuff I think might sell out...fine.

Right now I have in my cart...3 sockets, a socket set and a gas can spout. Pick up in store fee? $7.00!!! That's ridiculous! Only one item in that order is more than $7 and that's the socket set. So therefore I'll likely pick them up the next time I'm there...or somewhere else if I'm there first. And that's the way they're being penny wise and pound foolish. Home Depot, Lowe's, and Walmart all have free in store pickup.

The online Menards ordering with the small but additional fee to get the items for you + shipping if needed is only good for two reasons. I once was at work and had to take advantage of a closeout deal that I couldn't get away to get to Menard's that day. But I could quickly buy online this way and pick up later on. I did that and don't regret it a bit. The closeout would have been gone otherwise as the really great ones go fast. The other reason if if you just don't live near a Menards (liberal EAST or WEST Coast people who did not vote for my MidWest Rust Belt Candidate for example). Being all about INCLUSION, those liberal folks are more than welcome on this here Menards Thread on GJ too!! Better to get the deal and pay the fees if you don't have a local Menards when a truly super and rare deal comes up. Otherwise, most of the time, avoid the online ordering!!!! :) - Paul

None of the other big home improvement chains charge a fee for a store pickup order. That is the main complaint about the Menards fee for doing so.

I don't think anybody is complaining about Menards charging for shipping to home.

yeah agreed. They really should not charge any fee and get modern. I think their online business would really take off if they would get rid of the fee. Lot's of people without a local Menards might order from them if they didn't have it. - Paul

When I went to pick up my online order the other night, I was directed to the way BACK of the store, for special ordered. I did see the large sign that directed to me the large room with ALL special orders, and no one in sight. I then perused the aisles, until I finally saw teensie tiny letting for the last name. Nothing at the end of the aisles indicating what letters are where for the non-regular online customer. I saw my order and as I was leaving I told the lady that was the WORST online pickup ever. I paid more to walk farther, and pick my own order. WTF? I told her every other online order I've done, I don't pay extra & don't walk an entire football field to retrieve. & that night, I REALLY didn't have the time to waste, where was the convenience?

I get your points on not being able to get to a Menards etc., but the day I ordered I could have stopped in, but for whatever reason I said I'll do it online (I wished I did now). I paid extra to do more work essentially. I knew where the product was I wanted, but spent more time retrieving the order. They could have at least brought it up the front desk.

While talking to the brick wall of a manger, he claimed I was the first complain of the fee. Sure, look online buddy. And you explanation of why I get charged a fee is absolutely f-ed up, when I have to put more work in getting my order. He said fees were normal, and I told him "not that you have a reason to, but order ANYTHING from the Lowes right next to you and see what they charge you for a fee, and where they direct to get that order."

They also said they have no space for orders up front. hmm, Home Depot, Lowes... Perhaps take all the **** that you don't rent ever, and put that where your online orders are in the BACK, and put orders up front & you could promote that service like HD/Ls.

then they couldn't even print the slip that I was supposed to sign that they kept making a stink about, then just waved me off.

hey Menards, please keep up the well thought out business choices :monkey_po

even if it all went smooth, couldn't Menards potentially sell more if the fees weren't there?

I liked Menards at one time, but now all they are good for is getting the 11% matched at Home Depot

I've ordered stuff a few times on deals that stuff was going dirt cheap and I was going to churn over. Various stores in a big radius of my area. Worked great and the stuff was waiting for me for a measly pull fee. I've even called up stores 400 miles from me and they even shipped it to me. When it goes for $3 and I sell it for $70 who gives a rats *** if they charge me .70 cents to pull it. If I ever get as cranky as some of you old farts I'll know it's over.

Items were for me, not resale. and the charge is $1.40 per upc. So 5 of one thing, and 1 of another, is $2.80 for example

yes, not much, and I wouldn't either if the item is worth $70. then ya no big deal, but the item wasn't that big & not worth that. Still their argument holds no water, when every other retailer does not charge it & is MORE CONVENIENT.

What are you getting so cheap? sounds like i need one ;)

It's all listed in their clearance section online. Takes leg work which many don't want to do. In 2010 I cleared over 50K on HD 1c deals.

I guess I've been there before, but never saw anything. I'm sure depending on time of year, or even when they drop prices (weekly, monethly?) can get you a great deal. Nothing I noticed tonight jumped at me.

Congrats on the HD stuff, but not really Menards information. And improbable today.

I couldn't care less about the online order fee. Maybe you who do should start a menards rant thread and dwell there.

Well I did not read the fine print on the menards rebate stuff so now I have a $50 store credit. Anyone want to buy it off me for less? My closest store is too far away to make using it worth while.

That could be a tricky one.....I have used rebates that had other's addresses on them, but I have also had a cashier check all the addresses and make sure they were all mine.

I would assume with PayPal that the buyer would be protected, but honestly it goes to waste sitting at my house. I don't make it up to Cheyenne ever.

I have used some from my BIL and vise versa They never check in my area just make you scribble your sig on the back. The cashier once told me not to sign as they are pretty much like cash if they get lost.

I've had some fairly large ones and have never been asked for ID, just to scratch a signature on it with the last transaction. This makes the way they mail the rebate check even more unsettling in that they don't even put it in an envelope or anything. It's basically just a post card for everyone to see.

I've always been surprised they do it that way. A really bad business practice if you ask me.

For those who don't know this is what it looks like. And yeah, it's often slightly tattered like that when it arrives.

Bought one of them around Christmas just for the bits for a spare set for one of the trucks. It is a nice complete set in a smaller case than some bit sets. The ratchet ain't nothing special but it does work.

40" Performax cart @ $154

Anybody have this cart? Issues?

I have a spot that fits that length well and could use some longer drawers for things like torque wrenches, cam bearing tool, etc.

Edit: it looks like the matching top is also on clearance at $129

Bought the set this past Saturday a.m. With the 11% rebate, the the price is very reasonable. Got it loaded up (at work) today. So far, I really like it.

I was told the new policy is to require an ID for rebates above $100 now.

I was told that several months ago. I have yer to be carded.

For those that don't know it is essentially a postcard. Just like in the pic above with no envelope to cover what it is.
