The online submission is relatively new. I noticed it about 4 weeks ago but prior to that I did not have a purchase for about two months so I don't know when it started.

All you need do is enter the receipt number and the date. The system then prompts for a mailing address and then you are finished.

If you have a HD account, login and do the above steps. The mailing address will automatically populate the fields for you.

The online is super convenient at least I think. I found out about it from a Tractor Time with Tim video. My problem is I never remember to use the stupid reward coupon things when I'm actually buying stuff at Menards! They sit in my glove box unused.

So you knew this guy was looking to nail you and you pulled some **** like you describe? Then you get pissed?!

I think you are the problem!

I guess I didn't think I was trying to pull any ****, unless that's what you call wanting to avoid waiting in a 10 minute line that I really didn't have the time for . I asked the girl to scan 2 items again, because I wanted more of them. I didn't know they the O'Keefes were $.75 until I was accused of stealing. After seeing the lip balm for $4 at another retailer the day before, $7 for the cream & balm seemed like a great deal. Had I known it was less than $1, I would have bought all of them on the shelf.

any further reply/discussion, should probably be in a Menards rant thread, as I don't have a deal to post, well I did get a couple of these. Almost the same price on Amazon, typically have been >$10 in the past

$6.99 - Irwin 5-3/8" 24T WeldTec Circular Saw Blade

Menards has some air compressor deals going.
Belt drive, 20 gallon Sanborn for $300 with an 11% store credit (advertised as $266). Even $300 is a good price for a belt drive, oil lubed portable compressor. This is about as powerful as you get out of a 120V outlet.

60 gallon, 3 hp (pretty standard stuff) Sanborn for $400 with 11% credit.

I shop HD during menards rebate sales. I can enter my HD receipt numbers and dates directly into HD's site and do not need to send in a paper copy. HD is slow sending the gift cards but they are easy to use. I like the cards better than the paper check from Menards.

What do you mean? Is that because HD matches menards rebate sales?

yep. Have been for the last year plus. I use to have them just take 11% off in store, but then started an actual rebate redemption setup, and just recently added the ability to just enter everything online

Pile of IRWIN impact accessories on sale looks to be 30-40% off plus the 11% rebate makes these pretty attractive if you're in the market!

If you have bought any of these recently, they have been lowering the prices. I rebought/returned for the price difference. Both the countersink bits & bolt removers dropped a few dollars on me.

I popped in Menards yesterday for some screws... They still had lots of clearance IRWIN **** on an endcap. Walked out with a 4pc? 5/8" spade bit pack for $2.49. I have had good luck with these in the past. Worth checking out!

Irwin spade bits are good.

On a side note it was contractors day Tuesday to today... local contractors come in and you can ask them questions. From 4-8 of i recall? Anyways.. went in there around 5, got the stuff I needed then went to Windows, wanted to ask a contractor a window question... didn't see a single one in the store. Everyone was being helped by Menards employees, no contractors in other sections. Had the tables out for them, but that was it. Pretty disappointed

In my area all the contractors I know are totally booked for the year, so not really looking to kill a day at menards. It's a neat idea, but I can't blame anyone for not being there.

Why does everyone complain? I really don't get it. They've had sale ads combined with 11 off. It's not like it's been 11 off with no sales ever. Seriously, if you hate it that bad shop elsewhere. If they quit doing 11 off all together you'd complain. I mail my rebates in. Save them up, then I go back and buy a bunch of **** for free. Good deal if you ask me.

because they have essentially raised their prices on items I would personally purchase. They used to have better discounts on items I buy without the perpetual 11%. The limited sale prices are much more conservative to account for the 11%.

I'm not even complaining or trying to get into a debate as this is just my personal experience with the endless 11%. At least where I live, the new never-ending Menards 11% has made some other stores more competitive. Luckily my local area is not stuck with just HD and Lowes as competitors (I rarely set foot in those stores).

Maybe it's a great deal for contractors and stuff? or people who don't care about pricing?

I guess the real question is.... What are you guys buying now that is actually better priced with 11% than the previous sale ads? Legitimate question as maybe i'll start buying that stuff.

Raising prices? I haven't noticed a price change in anything. Sure sale items are cheaper than 11 off, but I don't wait 4 no the for something I need to go on sale. I need something, run to Menards and buy it either way. 11 off is a plus... free money.

I tried buying pressure treated lumber at Menards recently and most of it was just plain garbage. So I guess there are rare times that I would probably go somewhere else and take advantage of someone like HD or Lowes matching Menards 11%.

That's the one big advantage of Menards doing 11% over and over. The other guys are trying to compete directly.

One thing I've noticed about that is Lowes and HD often have the same junk. The only thing I will give our local Lowes is, since far less people buy stuff from them, the PT is much drier than what Menards carries... which is a definite advantage.

Another large benefit from the 11% sales is they can save on store payroll; not needing to set the add (price tags on shelf) every week.

Very true, but I doubt you will notice lower prices because of it. I think for some stores, it gives them a chance to fix all their wrong tags during the 11% sale they have been too lazy to do.

I asked why their was no Metric Irwin products. The clerk said a supplier bought the endcaps and shipped in whatever product, and they will probably have it until it sells out. I thought it was stuff they already sold, but she said it was shipped in specifically for the endcaps to be clearance out. I'm surprised Irwin had so much more SAE than metric in it's sockets. Would have bought a set of each, if metric was available at a good price

Nor have I. IME their regular prices are always cheaper than Lowes or HD. Plumbing fittings, tubes of caulk, casing and trim...All substantially lower priced. Also selection, HD and lowes doesn't carry 14 step stringers. Nor do they have half of the landscape and paver selections.

I also like their way of tool rentals, sure they don't have the huge selection of HD, but I like the fact that you pay for 4 hours and then by the hour after that instead of the whole day.

The general consensus these days seems to be if a contractor can get to your job right away that you probably don't want to use them. If a contractor is already busy why go to Menards to solicit customers?

I called a septic contractor about two weeks ago about sealing my tank due to root intrusion. He said he would get the utilities marked first and then schedule the work after that. He must be busy as the utilities have not yet been marked. I am not in a hurry as the septic is working fine, but the roots will eventually cause problems.

I talked to two friends of mine this week that lay concrete for different companies. They say they are both booked until the week before Thanksgiving.

The free after rebate earplugs are decent if you use them anyway, no limit, I should be set for ten years or so. They also have an aluminum square.

Hitachi 18V power tool batteries are drastically discounted this week.
The 1.5 Ah is $29.99, down from $69.00 and the 3.0 Ah is $39.99, down from $99.00. I picked up a couple of the 1.5 as my store was sold out of 3.0.

Starting Fri they have a Crazy Days ad that overlaps with the current one. Not much FAR stuff but a lot of $0.99 AR and other good prices.
