If the frame is MDF I'd be careful. They used to offer an osb/plywood type frame for their interior doors, or a cheap wood. They were better. If it scratches deep or you out nails in it the mdf tends to blister out. With other types of sinks in and it's a simple fill and touch up. When I replace our interior doors if the stock is MDF I'll be ordering some instead. It seems they've switched a lot of stuff to mdf.

If you don't mind mdf 67 is a good price for a pre hung filled door. Usually you can get the hollow doors I'm referring to that are pre painted for that price on a sale. Downside is you have to paint them yourself (all my stuff is white so I prefer pre painted).

As for what you posted they put them on sale several times a year. If you need them any time soon I would scoop them up in case it's a while until they do it again.

How often does Menards run the Door Sale's. I know they have one going on now but I rather wait if possible. I still need to gut the rooms, flooring, paint but worse case I buy and just store for now.

Looking at these https://www.menards.com/main/doors-...ung-interior-door/4112604/p-1444448284771.htm

I hung a couple in a buddies house seemed decent. Haven't check Lowes's or HD yet.

I don't bother putting in hollow core/foam filled doors anymore. They're cheap but they don't last. The only place I want a cheap door is a rental, and it doesn't make sense there because the first time someone taps it with a piece of furniture or anything there's a hole in it.

The Menards solid wood doors are okay. Not awful but far from the best.

Same here, going on 15 years now.

Building a new one on the other side of town also now so that one will sit empty forever also I suppose.

I do like the remodel's all the stores are getting though. Basically moving the contractors/ building supply department to the back of the stores. Looks really nice!
Now they just need a register back there so if you got the wrong board outside you could just walk in the back door and exchange it, etc. Nope, still gotta walk all the way to the front of the store.:dunno:
They finally tore down the old one in Hanover Park and the land is still vacant. They moved down to Schaumburg and Barrington.

Anyone have a preview of next week’s Menards ad?

I called my buddy who gets the paper earlier, and of course he is out of town.

Totally not deal related, but just visited the Menards site, and I see the "Menards Guy" passed earlier this month. I miss hearing him on tv. Quite the jovial person. RIP

Thank you.

I know at some point there were a handful of stores online that posted it early, but I can’t remember what they were.

Well that’s unfortunate. Was hoping they would extend it another week. Guess I gotta get my lazy *** up and to the store.

Thank you.

There is a stanley fatmax insulated screwdriver set for $5 after rebate that is very nice and gets great reviews in it's dewalt labeling. If you have any interest I would recommend it.

Anybody know if the 11% is continuing next week? I don't know if I will have time today to shop and don't want to miss it and wait another month...

I bet they change up for the 4th with a different sale. I'm hoping they do both.

just a heads up.. i believe the pittsburgh (PPG) grand distinction is being clearanced out. It's on sale with a 6 dollar mail in rebate (my egg shell paint came to around 23 bucks a gallon.. good deal) but i noticed online it said the offer was good until 8/31.. usually that far into the future it's a clearance. IMO it's good paint, i use it on any trim i'm painting and have used it on walls, never an issue. and for that price it's a definite buy.

Looking to buy rain barrels but it looks like I have to wait for the 11% rebate...*sigh* ...hopefully next week.

I saw a couple rain barrels starting to clearance at HD a couple days ago. Might want to take a look there. Maybe stack with the 11% if you do find one at HD next week

Hope this is the proper place to ask this.

I was in Menards yesterday, looking at the basic MF screwdrivers. The acetate handled ones. I've seen other posters on here say they like them, so I hope to get some answers here.

Anyway, I noticed they do not seem to have any sort of "gripping" feature on the tips. No grooving or "roughing" on the surfaces. In particular the philips of various sizes and the slotted 3/16's and 1/4X4" ones. In the case of the slotted ones, the flat faces of the tips looked shiny and slick. To the point where you could almost use them as a very small mirror.

So, has anyone with these tools had problems with cam-out with the philips or slipping with the slotted ones?

Appreciate any insight.

Sorry to drift from the Menard's deals BUT do you have a Pepsi/Coke Bottling plant anywhere near you? If so, they sell/give away the used barrels that the syrup comes in. Might be worth checking....

I thought they fit the screws just fine, what I ended up not liking about them was the slick handles, a little factory grime and a hot, sweaty day = completly useless. I took them out of my carry pouch and left them at my desk.
