I am so sick and tired of %11 $hit!

why not? you have to do some leg work and find out what basically never goes on sale and then buy it on the 11% off weeks. Like the Xtreme garage heavy duty steal racking systems....they rarely ever go on sale. I waited for 11% and saved about $60.

I like 11%,

Or, buy stuff that is on sale when you think 11% may happen in the next two weeks and use the price adjustment. I just bought 1200 worth of veneer stone. The rebate will pay for the mesh and mortar, which I will buy at the next 11% off if I can since I don't need it right away.

If you take a look at the terms of the 11% price adjustment you cannot get an 11% adjustment on an item that was on sale.

Well I guess I kind of like the %11 off now. I bought a new toilet at HomeDepot and installed it about a 2 weeks ago. My wife just showed me last night a check from HomeDepot for about $11. She filled out their online match Menards Rebate.

.

I wish Menards would get setup with the same system/process that Home Depot uses for the 11% rebate. The processing time is so much quicker and there's no need to have to mail anything in.

Menards wants to make it as hard as possible for you to redeem your rebate to lower their costs. If they put it online a lot more folks would turn in their rebates. For small amounts folks simply won't mail them in. Others won't send before the deadline, some will forget the receipt or fill out the form wrong, and a percent or two will legitimately get lost in the mail.

I submit every Home Depot 11% rebate since it is so easy. I won't submit Menards rebates if they are less than a $1 or $2 back as the stamp and time isn't worth it. Home Depot processes each receipt by itself and if the rebate is less than $1 they still send a gift card for $1.

They sent you a check? They have always sent me gift cards, but it has been about four months since I did one.

Yeah, I prefer that they keep it the way it is otherwise their breakage rate would go down (more people submitting them), and therefore wouldn't have as good of rebates as they do (especially the free-after-rebate items).

you can put more than one in an envelope, just hang onto them until it's worth mailing.

sounds like a Seinfeld scam waiting to happen. If buy one pencil at a time...

they are on HD gift cards still. I have a feeling his wife showed him the whole page that is attached to the gift card, and called it a check.

What I want to know, when is one of the retailers though going to have the cojones to up it to 12%? :)

I assume you keep track of all of them?

I take pics of all receipts and forms as I fill them out and mail them. I don't recall ever going back and comparing them though, the numbers in my head always seemed close enough. Some things get returned or whatever before the rebate gets issued.

Do you ask for a reason? If I'm bored sometime I could look.

I take pics of all of them before I mail them also. Mine get checked by rebate number. The 11% ones I don't keep as close track. Only once have I had a rebate problem. Lucky for me I had a copy because it was $80.

Some of the single item rebates can really be a good chunk. Those I do keep track of in my mind. Like those Minties Dental Bones, $6 each with limit of 4. I usually buy them at Sams club because they are the cheapest.

^Good tips regarding tracking purchases with rebates. My problem is the purchase always exceeds the rebate amount. The joys of owning a house that was built in the late 80's and not really updated since then.

A Menards employee told me they can't run 11% more than 26 weeks per year. If they run it more often they can't call it a sale as it would be considered the regular price.

That sounds about right. The My Pillow company was fine/sued over similar ****. He advertised Buy 1 Get 1 free more often than not, thus confusing the customer on what the regular price should be.

Harbor Freight & Sears are similar, but use asterix to note that the higher price is the suggested retail price or other BS to skirt the guidelines.

When its not 11% rebate week they have sales all through the store on selected items and they end up being about 11% cheaper then the regular price. I like the sale prices better, that way I don't have to mess with that 11% rebate.

Anyone know when the next 11% is? I'm looking to buy a mower from Home Depot and hoping to get the 11% rebate. I have to check on exclusions though.
