Could have really saved time by placing the camera outside and just closing the door.

I need to practice shop hygiene as I lay a tool down where ever and then spend 10 minutes looking for it. A friend of mine, I was over helping him, and he couldn't find something, so he said "I am going to clean and organize things until I find it." Good strategy. I've been using that technique.

If the cars were inside, then he couldn't do anything inside the shop. I'd rather have the cars live outside so I can use tools and equipment inside and thus save a lot of money on repairs/projects. Plus that's not s--t; it's tools and equipment.

I think the best way to deal with this stuff is to just buy $2k to $10k cars so you don't feel bad about keeping them outside. That leaves more money for tools/equipment. Or building a separate workshop, I guess, for the workbenches and equipment.

Privacy is about preventing people from connecting pieces of information. By itself, the license plate means very little. Connected to a username, possibly with other pieces of information connected to that same username, it becomes an attack vector. And since posts like this are semi-permanent, the attack vector is searchable for a long period of time, rather than being transient.

TL;DR: Preventing malicious entities from "connecting the dots", maybe even way in the future, is why people obscure their license plates.

I'm in the "don't get it" camp. The chances of someone wanting to attack (for use of a better term, and just following your wording) are probably greater of someone that has had a personal encounter with the OP. The chances of someone online wanting to track this person down are slim, the chance of someone being local and capable are even slimmer.
I couldn't care less either way. Maybe there is something to hide, maybe the cars are stolen, or have been involved in another crime, or maybe he's on disability and shouldn't be playing in the garage, but there isn't a dot on his face so that's probably not it.
At the risk of running this off topic, I REALLY don't understand why plates are blocked in ads like on CL, will they cover the plates once I see the car in person as well?
As far as the negativity on this forum in general, some may be uncalled for, but it's one of the positives as far as I'm concerned. People say what's honestly on their mind without having to worry about hurting someone's feelings. Everyone is entitled to an opinion whether you agree with it or not. Grow some thick skin and keep moving ahead.

To the OP, welcome to the GJ!!! So elaborate on what you do to make money from the garage. I'm guessing from what I saw maybe woodworking or similar? Also include your address and social security number.

You guessed correctly. I am a woodworker, upholsterer, and a big DIY'er(too cheap to pay someone else to do it[emoji6] ). I still have a day job but my side jobs pay for my DIY projects a lot of the time. LMAO on the social and address.
