Very much so different. The 24 gauge material will support the basic hand tools but not much for abuse or heavy items like lots of wrenches or hammers. The 24 will start to sag in the middle and the back lip will crease allowing for the drawer to buckle and then creating a frustrating situation when opening and closing, since it will rub on the lower drawer.
If you can afford it go the heaviest gauge (16 in this case) as possible.
