I went into my local Fastenal this morning and was told the part numbers listed in this thread are not on clearance and was given the regular price.

They probably just looked at the website and not at their system.

Ordered the one in the link today. The local store is pretty bare bones. Very little stock of anything. I'd like to know how your supposed to know this is a clearance item to begin with. Does the OP get a flyer or ?

Nope. It was not announced at all. My store had no idea. Corporate puts things on clearance sometimes and if someone finds it, great, otherwise, no big deal. That's my opinion from talking with my store.

I was given the system price. When I said the price quote was the regular price and not the clearance price, he offered to check the website price. When I said everyone else in the country was paying the clearance price, he had no response. He said the manager would look into the pricing and call me. I still haven't received the call.

What part of Florida are you in? I'm down in Tampa and have placed two separate orders so far one for the 24 drawer which I picked up yesterday, and placed another for the 18 drawer. My local Fastenal had no issues. That being said the 18 drawer is enroute from Cali and should be here by the end of the week. I suggest you go to another store.

Whoops, the dividers are plastic. They are the same color as the box so I assumed they were metal. I realized my mistake when I started trying to figure out what to put in them.

........... I suggest you go to another store.

There is a second store in town and I went there this morning. All part numbers were clearance priced. I ordered two units and they will be here Friday.

Picked Mine up today. The store rep didnt mention shipping cost when I ordered over the phone. Some posted on the thread that they may charge shipping, I played dumb and told them that they didnt tell me i had to pay(because they didn't),he was able to lower it down to like 4.60. With sales CA tax I payed 66 total. Im still cool with that.

The shipping box that its delivered in has basically NO soft packing material and is packed tightly in the box! It only has cardboard strips on the corners and foam strips to keep the drawers shut, so If the box has any damage so will its contents! (Mine was fine)

The drawers are a bit flimsy, I measured it at around 0,35" or 9mm. but many of the edges are rolled over. 2 plastic dividers in each. Bglossy Blue with printed logos on top and sides. The blue paint has a bit of orange peel and some noticeable waves in the metal construction. Its not a showpiece anyway. They sit on shelves so they slide with the friction of the drawer bottoms, And when pulled out they hangover the shelf edge or you have to take them all the way out.

These will work for me, and the price was right for this type of storage.

Yea its pretty ridiculous but I do a ton of automotive work so I will have it full in no time I'm sure. Good news is the guy at fastenal gave me a giant roll of labels to use. I was thinking about getting the kind of labels you can print on and putting little pictures of a bolt or nut or whatever is in it.

I kind of feel bad, Concealer404 on here is one of my good friends and he actually bought one of the 24s and he decided I could steal his because i wanted to pic up one more. Well when we went back like a day later they were sold out so I ended up buying him an 18 drawer shipped from the minnesota area i think. ( we live in Indianapolis) I picked up the base for 50 bucks from the other company they carry and the bolt holes and everything lined up perfectly.

These drawers are huge, almost 12 inches deep, so they hold a ton. and with 96 of them, well you get the idea.

Has anyone found additional drawer dividers? I can't find anything close on the Fastenal website and Google finds nothing useful.

these are the same drawers just painted different I had at my last job. I cut my own out of aluminum because when we first put them on the truck and filled them with hardware we didn't realize that the dividers would bounce up and screws would get stuck under them. So i had to break them to get the drawer out. I redid everything and siliconed then down and never had a problem again.

I don't work there anymore but i do have access to it but if you want some white aluminum dividers pm me.

Powder coating as a pretty bad on 1 of 2 of the 9 drawers that I got. Ordered another and it was fine. I might try to get some very thin plastic and put that on the shelf and have the drawers slide on this slicker surface. Just trying to solve a non problem:)

I have a Dymo Letratag. Its pretty cool and has a few symbols for bolts screws nails and nuts. I haven't labeled my drawers yet though. Its pretty good at printing one line text and symbols.

I had a super nice brother that worked very well but for stuff like this it just wasnt capable of making big enough labels. I sold it and have been using a laser printer on the avery style labels and you can get them in basically any size up to full 8.5x11 page labels.

I picked up mine today as well. I will second that they are lighter duty than the old stuff thats similiar. For the price, it's still a good deal and I'm happy to have it. No way I would have paid the catalog price for these.
