Going to be a bit of a contrarian here....
I'm planning to ditch all of my wall control stuff....have 4 or 5 boards in the garage, I think 3 more up in the basement and at least 3 not currently installed. It's the classic "It's not you it's me" line....
It's quality, works well with the factory hooks and pegboard hangers etc. I 3D print a lot of tool holders, and for me it's so much easier to just take a couple 3/4" lath style screws/cabinet screws(big fat heads) and zip a couple of screws thru holes in the holder to a piece of plywood mounted to the wall. Yes I could make tool holders and use the pegboard holes(have done it, didn't love it). I've also made some that use the metal hooks for the slots, and printed some slot hooks as well...again just didn't like it as much.
It also makes it easier to use already modeled things off the internet as I can put mounting holes into the part in the slicer program, so if it's designed for an Ikea Skadis or pegboard or Wall Control or any other modular panel system....a couple of quick holes added in slicer and push to the printer, come back in 30 minutes to a couple hours. I could also do like LilScorpion in his build thread and put in nutserts into the holes and have a sweet grid of threaded holes to zip tool holders into/out of with button head machine screws....but I don't have the attention span or drive to go that far though I love how it looks.
So I'll move to either a piece of 1/2" or 3/4" plywood, prefinished and screwed directly to the wall. If I get fancy I'll edgeband it or put some type of perimeter moulding on......maybe. When I need to rearrange things it'll be 10 minutes with a T20 torx or similar and a driver to pull it all down and rearrange as I see fit.
