MIG Cart.....my first project

I recently retired and bought a MIG welder. The last time I did any welding I was 15 years old on a stick welder.
My first project was to make a cart for my welder and tank after spending hours under a helmet practicing and learning how to weld with a MIG. My next projects are two welding tables to use in the shop. This spring I will be replacing all of my wooden railings with steel ones, so that will keep me busy.

After building houses and doing cabinets and woodwork for the last 35 years, along with my other full-time job, I am really enjoying welding. I will pick up an AC/DC stick welder and relearn stick welding too. Love the forum and have learned a lot and still learning every day. Thank you.

Try one of those newfangled Arc/Tig combo units if you want to learn something new. I got a tig last year but haven't had time to sit down and learn, I'm hoping to this year.

and nice cart, looks professional!

Looks really good. I have a similar Lincoln 180, but have yet to set it up and use it. It looks yours does a fine job on that tubing. Until then, I'm limping along and making do with my Miller 135.

I really like the way you all have clamps for the bottle. The HF , so I'm told, had these chains and little slots to hold the links in place. I need to build my own clamp system.

Nice Work!

You are correct, the HF cart has chains. They work fine on concrete but the bottle can move around if you try to jump over hoses or drag your welder out into the driveway. It's hard to beat for the $30-40 I paid several years ago.
