Looking at what the OP has done with other peoples cast offs and Manager's Markdowns has convinced me that in my next life I want to work in either an Orange or Blue "Big Box" home center.

Mike, I completely understand the Taj comment but you know that faucet is almost useless for watering a potted plant in that sink. Wayfair currently has this 4" spread laundry faucet on sale for $35.69:

Bob, Mrs. Cat would kill me if I spent that much on such a luxury item.:willy_nilI need something I can hook a hose to. The tote will have a submersible pump which will provide water for my hydroponic system. I plan on having a couple of different plant grows, soil and 2 different types of hydroponics. Some things just grow better in soil like radishes, onions, potatoes, root veggies, gonna try some hydro for plants like lettuce, cabbage and greens. somethings will be outside like blackeye peas, beans, cucumbers and plants that vine. I can start them in the late winter in the green house with hydro and move them outside when it warms up. Oh the cats tell me not to forget the catnip, right like I need a bunch of drugged up cats running around. Then again if it gives them the munchies maybe they will do their job and take care of this mole problem that has surfaced. Mike

Lowes did me well, never could afford that Bentley but I never would have been able to afford the quality I put in the Man Cave. I wish I could have left on better terms but I had to many things going against me. I am a caucasian, straight, male over 60 that was holding a dept. management position. I managed a tool dept. in one of the larger stores my annual sales just in my dept. was over 12,000,000 a year. I had been with the company over 12 years and I believe I was a threat to the young store management, they felt I was going to take their job. What they didn't realize was my days of politics are over. Now they can F things up and no one will question them. Mike

When your Boss perceives you as a threat, it soon becomes time to say "It's been nice". I was seen as a threat by the Facility Manager who was fired just weeks after he laid me off. The company found he had been stealing from them for years.

Ironically the reason I left was because of the way I was being treated and the comp. was going through a restructure. I had a Asst. Mang. that was bound and determined to talk to me like I was a 16 yo. When I left, I went to HR and gave the lady my ID said its been real, its been fun, but it has not been real fun. It was the first job I ever walked out on. The same Mang. was transferred a couple of weeks later for doing the same thing to someone else.

Keeping with the build on the cheap, the work bench is making progress. Put on casters I got from when I worked at Lowes for $2 each. Shelf and wood $0, lag bolts that I used to put on the casters came from the gate hinges from the last wood I found. Sanded down some Cherry cabinet doors and found out the hardware was solid brass. I boiled the hinges and pulls and found out they had 3 layers of paint, after polishing they are stellar.IMG_1591.jpg

I think you're my new hero. Thank you for posting your build. I really enjoyed reading it!
Thanks I caught ya watching about 1/2 way through the other day, I think it was when I was talking about falling off the ladder!! I think I finally figured out what I am going to do with the roof. I have another web site I go to and one of the guys turned me on to Northerngreenhouse.com. They offer a Polythrene weave fabric that it super tough and UV rated. I'm gonna use that for the roof and my Secret Santa here on this site gave me a $75 gift cert. to Gardensalive.com and they offer a poly fabric I can use on the sides and gable. The fabric will allow heat to escape and a little rain in. It won't cost near $75 so I can use the rest for seeds and fert. or maybe a fabric 20gl. grow pot. Livi'n large now.... Getting ready to finish the workbench next week. Mike

Weather has put me off my game this week, temps went from 67-24 in 12 hours, then we got sleet and snow 4 days later. Its suppose to warm up but high chance of rain. Had to cover it but on the bright side the wild cats love it now. Its times like this drives the retired stir crazy. Mike. BTW I ordered a sheet of polypropylene ground cover with some of the Gift Cert. from my SS, Thanks Kaervak it shipped out on the 4th, with Memphis great USPO I may see it by the end of the month, but I'm not complaining.

Feels so cold down here when it gets down to freeze and the humidity is high it good to stay in and have a adult beverage. Today it warmed up to mid 50s, good time for a adult beverage.. Think I'll get out and work on the work bench.

Reminder to self 2/3/2022, 8:06 AM big ice storm and lost power for 14 hrs. temps in mid 20s. Power restored 10:09 and found out we were some of the lucky ones, Memphis had 140,000 with out power. 2/4 over 120,000 still no power high of 25 degrees, time of this post 2/5 6:32AM temp. is 23 still over 50,000 no power. God help these people. Mrs. Cat brought home the Omicron from another teacher and we are in the final stages, I can't imagine what it would be like with no light/heat or hot food. We both have had the vac. and this is the second round in a year.

Glad you guys are doing ok-ish Mike!
2/10 I got my sniffer back 2/11 I smelled the rain, first time in 1 1/2 years. Sinuses drained, I know its a gross thing but you can't imagine how good it feels. My lungs hurt because I can breath so easy and I'm getting more air than I have in a long time. That explains why my energy level has been so low. So much air its making me dizzy.

It doesn't look like much but I moved the workbench into the greenhouse. It weighs every bit of 200lb. and the ground was soft and the casters kept sinking. 30ft. 30 min. Bet when I find my nuts I feel it in the morning. On the positive side I think its going to be cool. Just the right size. 👍 Really the greenhouse is level I'm just a little off.IMG_1602.jpg

Weather has been nice, I got the ridge cut and two rafters, the header for the door and top plate cut. Now if the rain will just hold off and dry out a little I can go to Lowes and pick up some 2x4 for rafters. Been bouncing back and forth on which way I want to do the roof, be it hoop roof with PVC or frame rafters. I decided to do the best of both worlds and frame then stretch the ground cover I bought with the SS GC I got from my GJ SS. Then when I can afford I will use clear corrugated panels. I'm going to use old school metal screen for the openings above the windows. I'll post pics when I get a little farther along. Mike

So I went to Lowes and bought 8-- 2x4 studs and enough aluminum screen, to screen the sections above the glass. $120+. After Mrs Cat told me I'd just have to die from a stroke because I can't afford to go to the hospital I thought I'm not going down without a fight. I guess she'll put "at least it's starting to look like a greenhouse" on my tombstone. :drink:

How many windows can you open after the greenhouse is completed?

I’m sure in the middle of summertime you’ll need some sort of ventilation system.

It’s moving right along. How are your seedlings doing now?

Nada but above the windows is going to be aluminum screen, that will be my ventilation. When it gets cooler I'll make some windows out of plexi. to keep the heat in.Only seeds I have coming up is some bell pepper.

Woo Hoo, found a honey hole!!! About 1 1/2 miles from me is a new construction site, all big homes $750k+(NY,Cali. $1.5-$2M). That means scrap, I picked 2-12's, 3- 10', a couple of studs and some pieces that are maybe 6'. Nice thing about new homes is they order 10% more than they need to compensate for mistakes, bad wood, and braces. Workers are more than happy to get rid of it because that means they don't have to pick it up and throw it in a dumpster. Total scrap price is somewhere around $100-$150 bucks. Better yet I just cut strings with the big box lumber.. It's suppose to rain tomorrow morning but dry out tomorrow afternoon so I should have some new pictures.

Picked up a side job and made some extra change so I went to Lowes and looked around for deals. Came up with this-
8 bags of Mulch/Top soil/Compost/compost and manure=50% off
3 - clear corrugated 12'x26" panels= 75% off, reg. $40 I paid $10 each
1 - LED flood grow light bulb, on clearance
Total $71, savings of +/-$100. (y)

Ah give it a few more weeks and we won't see rain again until September!
You know I'm just all a tingle waiting for August and July. Those that don't live close to a major fresh water,(Mississippi river is really 1 mile wide here in Memphis) and high heat don't get how dangerous it can be. I was working in the 85 degree heat yesterday and started to get dizzy, still sweating. They're calling for heat index of 105 in the next couple of days, and this is just June.
