I submitted and was accepted for $700 yesterday. I was not taking a chance on a lower price and not getting one. I have a Eastwood 120V that they had for $199 last fall that I found on here, but this one will do more that that one, plus a good friend of mine also needs a bigger welder, we both have small welders, so we are going to split this one.

You're taking a chance just by purchasing from someone with only 150 feedback alone

6 months of sales, most of them more expensive items ($500++) is too much positive feedback for me to be scared. Could be someone who started a new company or made a new username but that's speculative. 150 positive reviews is enough for me to be confident in it. Ebay and PayPal are too tight for me to think this seller is a faker or scanner. I'd rather buy from a business with a bunch of recent positive feedback, than buy from an independent seller with a handful of feedback over a long time.

150 feedbacks @ 100% is pretty good. I've found as both a buyer and seller people give feedback a lot less often than they used to. Back to the earlier days of eBay I used to be good about it but I am much less so now.

To have 150 positives and 0 negatives probably means 200+ happy customers and no one who's been pissed off enough to go keyboard-commando which doesn't take much anymore.

I just submitted an offer for $625.00. Hope he accepts it. My Lincoln Pro mig 175 isn't feeding right anymore.

FYI:
Dear crewchief437,

You should see the shipping number this evening or tomorrow morning max.

You will start seeing details on it as soon its in Fedex hands, we consolidate and bring all boxes accross the border for fedex collection, this way you pay no taxes or duties... As soon you start seeing movement on it it will come pretty fast to your location,

Cheers

I just counted. This seller has received 43 positive feedback ratings during the last 6 months for the same welder and no negatives on any item. I like these odds.

That is all well but, this same type deal came up last year and it happened that the account was hacked. All our orders were cancelled

I would tend to agree, but I don't see how that would work. Ebay won't release his money until a few days after delivery confirmation. Paypal will also make certain that you are satisfied with what you receive. There's too much protection in place for the buyer for this to be a scam. And if it was, why wouldn't he sell something with a broader appeal? I mean, he's sold what, 30 welders?

False the money is released as soon as you pay on ebay. Amazon holds it for delivery confirmation.

PayPal/ebay will still protect you though.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
plus if it was a scam you would think he would take any and all offers.

No way... if he took any and all offers, then it would flag as a scam. If he sets a base minimum on what he will accept, and fluctuates it a bit, then it looks legit.

My only question is this - where do these "resupplys" come from? That, to me, is fishy. It's almost like someone hijacked a truck full of 211's or something... It IS an "offer that you can't refuse"...

I suspect if it's a scam we'll find out soon enough... If not we'll be pulling our hair out.

With enough items sold, they release the money. He should have a high enough seller rating for this to be the case.

Go ahead and risk it guys. eBay just refunded me 550 bucks for a set of Milwaukee Fuel tools that the seller never shipped. Took about two weeks to get my money back, but I got it. They also removed the sellers account. Oddly enough, the seller had 100% feedback and had several of the kits I ordered for sale. All the other buyers posted negative feedback as well. I'd say his account was hacked. Good luck. As an FYI, eBay and PayPal are splitting back into two separate companies very soon, so it may be harder to deal with issues like this in the future.

I hope everyone gets their welders. It's a screaming deal if you don't want to bother with selling the spool gun and accessories.

I think the positive feedback makes it look pretty safe, but I do wonder where the resupplies keep coming from. That part is slightly fishy.

I offered $950 for the Hypertherm, instant denied, offered $1000 and about an hour later he accepted. Emptied my PayPal account and paid in full with my credit card.

That sums it up. If its a scam it ties up a charge on the CC for about 2 weeks. Worth the gamble for the price paid. Ebay and PayPal stand behind the buyer, end of the day I will be happy.

Does the tracking number register yet? Let us know how it turns out. The seller has only left one feedback, ever. I just wonder where these all came from. They have sold more welders in one week than I have ever seen in one place.

Got a FedEx number as well, but can't pull up any info. Shows as unconfirmed and can't pull up the info on the FedEx site yet.

Got my shipment notification as well.

I work at Miller... and I can't get a 211 anywhere near this price. Nice find.

That makes the deal sound even more sketchy. Anxious to see how this turns out for folks.

I work at Coke, and you can buy fridgepacks at Kroger or WalMart on sale for cheaper than I can through employee sales.

Big companies that deal in volume don't always give their employees the better deal.

Just got offer accepted at 700.. I don't know how many this guy has.. it seems like he sells a pallet load, then reloads the gun!

Does Canada have less stringent standards on Chinese imports? Could these be fake?

I love conspiracy theories, it is fun to freak people out too.

Here's my correspondence with the seller:

Q: Can you clear this up for all of us who purchased one - how did you go about getting this? Former dealer that got a crazy good deal on excess inventory?

A: I am actually not making profit, I am just trying to recoup the cash flow we injected in this whole welder inventory... Miller is offering goodies and rebates to promote their dealer network, I don't want to get into a fight with them by selling all those welder close to retail.

If I were to guess, I'd say its a money laundering operation ....for the Clinton Foundation.

As well as a cross border manufacturing stimulus, ala NAFTA.

Sooo, perfectly legal, nothing to see here unless you want to experience prosecution in a FISA court or have your untimely and suspicious death ruled an unfortunate trans-gender-racial-species suicide.
