I called Fedex just now to see if the tracking number he gave me was phony since it hasn't have any movement yet and I was one of the first to order after it was posted on GJ. She couldn't find the number, but after entering in my address, it popped up as being created. Atleast that gives me the comfort of knowing the number isn't fake... yet.

When you look up your number does it show any info, or just the "try back later" line?

Some people are always quick to jump to conclusions (regarding that feedback) Its possible it may have been missed if this is just one or two guys doing this. Since some have numbers and package locations and delivery dates it seems more on the up and up. Unless he sent some bricks in order to slow roll the system to buy more time to move all the money.

I agree though. Those feed backs don't send a happy message.

I fall in the camp of thinking this is a scam, but I don't think those 2 negative feedbacks prove much. It's two people who probably found the deal on here or SlickDeals and are very worried and getting their flames fanned by message board speculation.

8 Days is a long time for no tracking updates. But if there is some kind of consolidation and border crossing involved they will likely take a while.

Was this on SlickDeals? I don't think so. There were a couple SD references here but only in an off-hand way. This was brought to us by low_crew_cab after he found it on eBay.

It took me a while to figure out how to track down what he bought. I had to look at a few of the feedbacks left and then decipher ebay's code. Basically his user ID looks like g***i after you look go to the seller's feedback, you click on the "feedback left for others" heading. Then you look for g***i and you can also cross reference the actual feedback language to confirm this. I can't wait to see what people get when these boxes are delivered!

This thread is defiantly a roller coaster. I hope the first person that receives theirs post a picture of what they actually got. Once i see that I'll know if i need to open a claim with eBay/PayPal. If my tracking number doesn't start working by Monday then i might just go ahead and open a claim then.

I'm a little ebay-slow... how can you see his purchase history?

Edit: too slow LOL. Also I think that ebay's username hidding thing changes. Look at feedback left to him, then go to the listing and look at the feedback count of who left the comment. Different codes.

If you look at his feedback as a buyer you can see the sellers that left feedback. I started with the ones that had lower feedback counts, so it would be easier to sift through the feedbacks. I found more than one occasion where everything matched up perfectly. It looks like ebay takes the buyers first two letters then puts the *** in between them. Anyways, I am 99% sure those purchases are accurate and I am sure others will chime in.

The ****** part is that ebay caused this. It used to be easy to search this type of thing, now you need to be into forensics.

I'm not sure why they started to hide everyone's purchase history. I use to go back and look at some of their previous transactions to make sure i wasn't getting hosed. eBay caused this just like you said.

In typical PayPal-*****-*** fashion, in response to my suggestion they carefully look at the transactions before they release funds, they sent me a handy automated FAQ for what to do if there is an unauthorized transaction on my account.

I tried. The only people that are going to loose money on this deal then are going to be PayPay. After over a decade of ******** and awful service from them, I could care less. (I know it's a drop in the 500 gallon bucket for them anyway.)

The excuse they gave was because people were approaching bidders who lost an auction with similar items off of ebay. I think it is BS, I also miss leaving negative for **** head buyers, now you can't tell until it is too late.

Remember when you could leave feedback for anyone? Didn't need to buy, sell or even bid.

You could browse an auction, click through to random bidders and leave them positive/neutral/negative feedback.

It appears he is getting some nice clothes for the court appearance's!

Can't really say I'd count a Hugo boss and Tom ford shirt as nice. They've def. cheapened up those lines the last few years. The Zenga tie might be nice but I didn't click on it. They have cheaper lines as well to make it harder to distinguish the good stuff.

I joined in 1998 to sell some silver dollars. Those were the early days.

I would type in "BMW" as a search term and get ~300 results. Today? 2.7 million.

I am a 2002 vintage, I definitely don't remember any of that. Truly the wild west! :willy_nil

Who writes a feedback comment like that? That seems very phony, like a Nigerian con.

I joined in 2002. Anyone remember when Ebay didn't fix spelling and you could search for things like porche or porshe and get deals on misspelled Porsche listings? That was the best.

My purchase shows as shipped, no tracking info.

I have almost convinced myself that they will ship a few of them just to keep the charade up longer. The purchase history sounds more like a young thief than a distributor who is going to ship you a welder.

Hmm...got the notice Fedex received the package. However. It lists the weight as 0.2lbs. I've sent a message to figure out what's going on. Scheduled for Thursday.

If anyone receives a welder, you should call miller and see if it is stolen, then you can still at least get your money back. I would hate to actually get one, then have a warranty issue, then miller calls the cops on you when you try and get a repair done.

The latest tracking update shows my 70lbs of mystery is at the brand new Fedex hub that is only ten or so miles away from me as of 8:14pm Friday.

My delivery estimate is now Monday 6/22. Wonder if I can go down and pick it up tomorrow instead of waiting for delivery on Monday?

You can probably change your delivery preferences and pick it up tomorrow.
