I have almost convinced myself that they will ship a few of them just to keep the charade up longer. The purchase history sounds more like a young thief than a distributor who is going to ship you a welder.

The crazy purchase history you posted earlier just screams scam to me. If he does come through, he will go down in history as the worst, best seller ever.

The latest tracking update shows my 70lbs of mystery is at the brand new Fedex hub that is only ten or so miles away from me as of 8:14pm Friday.

My delivery estimate is now Monday 6/22. Wonder if I can go down and pick it up tomorrow instead of waiting for delivery on Monday?

There is an option on the tracking page to hold the package at a hub or whatever. Pick that ***** up tomorrow!

I can't pull up the seller's feedback anymore. Works fine for other sellers. What's up with that?

I think this seals it... if this isn't a scam, I'll eat my hat!

edit: this also prevents you from viewing his purchase history... I wonder if he's aware of this thread and the sleuthing going on within it...

You can't see the individual feedback but the aggregate is still there.

He's up to 4 negatives now. It was two just a few hours ago. Either he chose to make it private to hide the recent negatives, or eBay does that for their own reasons related to negatives.

Please, please, PLEASE run over to FedEx tomorrow and get that box. I don't think the rest of us can wait until Monday to find out what's in the box!

What's in the box!

AAAAaaahahahahaha!

I am going to be very interested how this gets handled by ebay and paypal. With all the people warning them that this was a scam, they should have been on it days ago. I know I reported the items to ebay two days ago.

If I was him I would block it too. I cannot imagine the emails and messages he is getting not only from his buyer's but all the extra people sticking their nose in it.

So are you still under the belief he is actually a welding supplier selling stock on ebay?

So much suspense in this thread, i have gone from glad I didn't purchase one to wishing I had purchased one a few times now.

I am now back to being glad. =]

From ebay about members having the option to feedback to private:

When you choose the “private” setting for your Feedback Profile:
You can’t sell items on eBay.

So why would he do it?

I have seen flaky sellers before, but some of the feedbacks he had and some of the comments he made to buyers were just too out there. You have to give him credit, it is not too often you see ones like this.

I sent notice to eBay that it was fraudulent as well.

It's amazing how greed (which is what it is when you find a deal too good to be true) can put blinders on a person.

So maybe this comment can get erased too because I'm spoiling the party by telling the truth instead of what people want to hear.

Sorry to all who have their money ******* in this, hope you get it all back. I'm still interested to see the box of rocks that gets delivered though.

Delay the inevitable. Now we can't see why people left negatives. My guess is those numbers will skyrocket or ebay will just NARU his ***.

I bet it will be a small light package, too much profit would be lost shipping something heavy. All they did was delay things long enough to get the money.

As for the greed, you nailed it. Ebay was greedy, the seller is greedy and well you get my point.

So let's say it is a box of rocks and I opened it at a fedex terminal. Should I take it home, leave it or what? I will be recording it on video regardless!

If you open it in front of them, maybe they could right a statement for you? Is yours still showing heavy weight or did it drop to .2 pounds?

That is where it is strange, we know that a 211 should be 86 pounds, but we don't know if fedex updates weights as it hits locations. Believe me, I will be so happy if some of you do get the deal, could be part of the scam. I really believe this is a long con of sorts.

You have to take delivery of it. If you refuse the package you lose your buyer protection. Everyone take note of this

No I do not believe that. Could he be a reseller that bought a distributors stock...maybe.

I think that's exactly what he told someone earlier in the thread. I really think this will work itself out, which is totally out of character for me.

Did anyone see what the negative feedbacks said before they went private?
The first two mentioned something about the tracking numbers being bogus and seller wouldn't refund... both feedbacks from welders purchased like 8 or 9 days ago.

I always wanted to sell a guaranteed weight loss program, say 10 pounds in 24 hours or less. Then have the instructions be that you take a chainsaw and cut off your leg. The problem is some idiot would do it.

A bunch of us saw those, but I bet the 3rd and 4th were up for a very short period of time.

This. I'm so glad I didn't pony up for one of these now, but if I had, I would be proactively calling eBay customer support right damn now, and giving them a heads up that things are going south, and do what they advise. At least that way, there's a note in your account regarding the transaction. Might help once you do have to open a dispute case.

I take it the seller is no longer responding to emails either??
