Fedex Home delivers Tuesday through Saturday. I'm not sure if the shipper has to choose Home service or not. I used to think that Fedex Ground shipments going to residences automatically went through Fedex Home, but not so sure now.

Fedex Ground used to allow package pickup at the warehouse/yard/hub/whatever, but now they typically send packages for pickup to a Fedx Office store (Kinko's), or another retail type operation. I went to the local Fedex Ground operation once to pick up a package in the old days and it was a hassle. You would have thought I was visiting Fort Knox with the security procedures they have in place. The place was certainly not set up for customer pickups and it was like it was an inconvenience for them.

I hope everybody either gets their welder or a full refund.

FedEx home and FedEx ground are different services...shipper needs to select home to get Saturday delivery, it's not automatic.

Oh boy... I can't wait to see what shows up in these shipments!

Bricks?

4 negative feedbacks, feedback is now private... looks like the start of the end.

There's still a chance that all of this is fine. Think about it. There was no evidence whatsoever that came up in google searches of his paypal address or ebay ID. NOTHING. He had **** tons of positive feedback. People here started freaking out, contacting paypal and ebay. The guy was getting bombarded with emails. He just happened to get two bad feedbacks around the same time, so he decided to hide his feedback because he knew he would get even more emails. People on GJ talk trash, and everyone gets even more freaked out. In the meantime, my welder is on a FEDEX truck. I'm trying to think positively, here!

Just so people don't freak out even more, this happened last night sometime around 9 or 10pm eastern time. It's not "breaking news" or anything. Lol. This sure is ridiculous, though!

Oh man this could be interesting. I just found out about this thread and scanned through, I was hoping to see what's in the box but I'll have to wait for Monday I guess! Good luck to all that have their hard earned $$$$ in this but I'm afraid it's going to be a fairy tale that's just too good to be true.

Who would have thought being a member here also gives you another layer of protection for your online tool purchases. It is so nice that other members are willing to call EBay,PayPal,and Miller just to check on others orders. Perhaps calls where made to customs or Fedex for possible stolen goods :lol_hitti

Yeah.. and then we all can help each other figure out what to do if its a scam after all.

I sent the seller a question about shipping yesterday. Havent heard back yet.. and I dont know if he will get back to me. Probably has too many emails to sort though right now, or his box is full and mine fell off.

I don't think money laundering works like that. Two people working together would need to sell a cheap item for a lot of money. You don't launder money by sending someone a really expensive welder at half price.
Clearly you've never had a few million in ill-gotten proceeds and wanted to buy a house!

Its easy...

Start with a large pile of "dirty" cash. Typically this will be your mafia, drug cartel, Senate committee for campaign reform, or otherwise well organized criminal element with insane sums of money to "legitimize."

Create shell organization/individual. This is where your low level "thinking criminal types" come in, just smart enough to be useful to the larger enterprise, but yet entirely expendable.

The shell purchases items that can be quickly resold, often for a loss. But you don't want too many cheap things, too much leg work. And you don't want tracked items like cars or amounts that raise banking system alarms. Welders? Perfect. Buy them up at auction from defunct retailer chain.

Resell the ill gotten goods 60-75% off in one shot, via a highly anonymous and rapidly paced marketplace, like hmm... ebay? And of course you do indeed supply the merchandise you promised because you don't want a law enforcement investigation starting there and potentially swimming up into your laundering stream.

Your shell organization/person now has completed the first, shall we say, "agitation cycle" of the laundering process, and the money can be passed into a larger laundering channel, and eventually into somebody's actual pocket for legitimate use.

...

FedEx tracking now says it's, "On FedEx vehicle for delivery."

And then in grey font below... "Scheduled for delivery next business day."

And so, we wait.

4. This forum is for the posting of Hot Deals only. Discussion threads will be deleted. However, discussions about specific deals (replies to discussion threads) are fine and sometime even productive!

Keep it on track gentlemen. Some of your fellow members have a large amount hard earned money at stake.

I purchased a hypertherm powermax 45 from this same guy. I got a fed ex tracking number but no details on tracking page has ever come up I called fed ex and was told a tracking number can be generated but until item is scheduled for pick up and scanned into the system it's just that ,a unused tracking number.
I bought on June 17th. The day after , all his feed back was made private and shortly after that all the other items he had for sale on ebay were no longer shown.I too fear we've been scammed. I already contacted pay pal and was told I have to wait until last possible delivery date has passed then and only then can I open a resolution page with ebay and ask for help. If anyone gets any updated info please pass it along an I will do the same. Thanks,,,,

I actually noticed that yesterday; compared his pics to Internet pics, but that could be an international thing. A lifetime ago I worked in shipping/receiving and we had various colored labels for differet situation.

I think Strouty already took the week off and is coordinating the effort of triangulation to find and terminate this seller with extreme prejudice. Hes racked up nearly 90 posts/4.5 pages worth here alone.

I guess it works, but why involve yourself in selling physical goods, at a loss, to explain the origin of your money, as is the name of the game?

You want a notional source of cash money that can be explained... such as the Breaking Bad car wash. Or a crappy restaurant, or service biz. You claim you made $X, when in reality, you did squat in real business, you're claiming your dirty money as income, because the IRS only looks so close at people claiming to make money.

I don't like scammers, never have, never will. There is a special place in hell for people that do this type of thing. Sorry if I appear overzealous, I am taking it personal, because GJ is involved. I tried to post all the info that made my gut scream scam in hopes it would keep someone from spending hard earned money so that jackass can buy DJ equipment and expensive clothes.

So....how about some cliff notes for those of use that dont want to read 30 pages. Ive ignored this thread until I realized it was at 30 pages and thought there must be a smoking 'hot' deal in there....now it sounds like another scam.
