Yea I guess you've worked cases with postal police before? they will only work USPS cases. Now the FBI on the other hand would, but this is a small amount of money, they rather go after medicade fraud which is in the billions of tax payers money.

FedEx and FedEx Ground both handle US Mail, Postal Inspectors will be involved if need be.

So his wife is now missing a non stick pan and his kid is missing his chutes and ladders game. And his older kid is missing all their paper for home work. I hope they catch this guy.

Hey guys. I have been lurking about for some time and have found some very useful and helpful knowledge on here. I finally registered because I found this thread after doing a search for "eBay user gillaca". I bought the Millermatic 211 MVP. Or I should say I paid for it at least. Never got so much as a box of rocks from this thief. He provided a bogus tracking number for me. I filed the PayPal dispute and was advised the soonest it would be closed was 07/04/2015...

I've got to say though, I'm laughing my **** off here. Not at ya'll, but at the fact that he's got the balls to send random **** like "Chutes & Ladders".

What a mess this thief has caused! Sorry to the guys that have to deal with getting it resolved, that seller is a total scumbag. I have to say, I came close to jumping in on 'the deal,' but held off for two reasons. Number one, is that I'm recently out of a job and need to be careful with purchases right now. And number two, it really did seem too good to be true, something just didn't feel right about this deal.

I've been looking to get a 211 set up for over a year now, so it was so tempting! Not sure if cash flow was better right now, if I would have tempted fate and went against my gut feeling, or not...? I sure am glad I didn't! I have to say, I was eating my heart out after the listing was all sold out, and I was reading about tracking numbers being sent out. Then felt bad about you guys getting scammed. That *****. Hey, we've all been had at one time, or another. It's a cruel world! Thankfully, there's some protection with Ebay/PP.

Alive?

I was the second to last person to put in a bid with the seller. It was for the "Miller 625 Extreme plasma" at $1050......I DID NOT PAY.

I jumped on this at the very last minute knowing it may go south. Called Ebay, they said if the seller does not request payment for 60 days then the sale is VOID.

Feeling pretty lucky. Hope everybody else gets their money back in a respectable time frame.

What a mess.

I didn't buy one of these, but I am still internally debating what I think of all of this. The early buyers I understand, but the later guys had a pretty good sense this was a scam and bought anyway. Everyone will get their money back but eBay/Paypal will be left holding the bag. Sure it's a drop in the bucket for their organization, but costs like this are what drive higher fees.

If it hadn't been for the international shipping aspect I very well could have bought too, but the buyers aren't the only victims of this slimeball.

I had my claim escalated a few days ago with Paypal and they told me it would take roughly 7 days to get straightened out. After seeing ATC's refund, I gave them a call again. The lady closed down my case and refund is on it's way. I would encourage those who haven't gotten their money back yet to give Paypal another call.

Edit: Just logged back in to my Paypal account and I can see where the $600 reversal has happened. That was fast!

Got my monies back:

Good deal. How did you get it back so quickly though? Paypal is saying the seller has until 7/3 to respond before they move the claim forward.

Called again, lady stated they knew there was an issue with the seller, but they still needed to wait the 10 days to process refunds. I asked her why some people had already received their refunds. She put me on hold to talk to her manager, and came back with the same line that they had to wait the 10 days.

Got my charges credited back to my CC last night. I called PP on Tuesday morning, explained the situation, they already had record of the issues w/ the seller. Once they looked at the tracking number, saw it was not valid, I was told that they would credit me back the charges right then. Within 15-20min, my PP account showed the credit. From there it took a day and a half to see my CC statement credited back.

Well, I'm scheduled to get my paper, chutes and ladders or baking rack today. Already spoke to Paypal and they said to simply refuse the delivery and they would expedite a refund to my cc. She said "immediately" but I'm betting it takes a few days to make happen.

What's weird is that some of me is still holding out hope I actually get what i ordered. Maybe since it was a plasma cutter instead that he was honest...haha. Not holding my breath.

I just went back to look at the last ebay listing for the welder and am amazed at how many offers the seller refused. there were 4 fold more declines than acceptances. Weird?

Why even bother with the paper though?

Mines being help at a fedex location today. Not sure if its worth the effort to even go over there. Its def. not high on the priority list today.

Just guessing, but maybe to give the impression that something is actually inside the envelope.

Never again buy without using a credit card.

This. I HATE how PP tries to default you to a bank account. I understand WHY they do it (it benefits them) but if there's a problem your actual $$ is ******* until they get around to doing something about it. Credit card always for me too.

That's been covered earlier: because it prolongs the scam. These guys did a good job of being thieves. If an item shows shipped, it satisfies eBay and PP and makes the transaction look legit, as if it's normally progressing, buying the seller more time. It's all about making eBay think you're doing what you're supposed to do.

On a different note; if I buy the 211 and try to get the $400 rebate, what are the other itms I would need to buy to get the full $400 rebate, I cant seem to find the list of items needed to qualify for the $400 rebate other than the machine it self?

So long as they're Miller branded products you are good to go.

ETA: Talked again to Paypal and they have closed my Case and said my cc account will reflect a complete refund in the next two days. Woo hoooo
