Millermatic 211

Anyone have any experience with the Millermatic 211?Did you buy it new?What was the cost?Brouchure I read said it could weld 3/8" steel on a single pass--True or False??

I have welded with a MM 211 on 120v only. Nice machine. The literature says it will weld 3/8ths but the duty cycle is gonna be like 20%. If you need to weld a lot of 3/8 or even 1/4, buy a bigger unit with a decent duty cycle. Just my .02.

I love my 211 and I can tell you that machine has some punch.
I think it would have no problem with 3/8 material

I also love my 211. I paid a bit under $1k. I have only used it on smaller gauges so I can't talk about it and 3/8"

I enjoy mine. I haven't welded anything thick yet but even on 120 volts it does a nice job. My dad has a cheapo mig welder and there's a big difference in weld quality. When it comes to welders, get a good one. Miller is a great company to buy from.

The 211 would not be my first choice for 1/4" and thicker. Can it do it? Yes. It will require perfect joint prep on clean metal with 240v input on a large breaker and .035 wire. And only 20% duty cycle.

I like my 211 a lot. It's my go to for 1/8" wall tube and general here and there fab. But it's not intended for large welding jobs. If I could only have one MIG welder, I'd have a MM 350P. Since I understand that's not reasonable for most folks, I'd have a MM 252. If you are just welding sheet metal and various brackets and such, get the 211. They are good little welders if you understand their limits.

It is a very attractive solid unit. Can it run 3/8" mild steel in a single pass, sure. Would it be a good machine if all you planed on doing was 3/8" day in day out, no. What do you plan on welding? Miller is a very reputable company they won't put out B.S. specs so no need to worry about the 7hp 110v air compressor.

I hAve one I bought used for 250 and use it every day in my body shop and has no problems welding up to 3/16 on 120 and it is a beast on 220 and has no issues with 3/8

I bought mine in Canada for $1015.00, the best price I was able to find in the last year or so....and I love it. Haven't tried 3/8' yet, but if that's all you will weld, go for the 252.

I have one I bought it at air gas for 950 a year or two ago it has been the best welder I have welded lots of 1/4 plate with it on 110 and 220 I could weld 3/8 in one pass on 220 no doubt and the auto set is awsome I love this welder hands down if mine quit I would buy another
